The Global Events team is essential in bringing our values of integrity, excellent and relevance to life by delivering exceptional global events for our Board of Directors, Operating Committee and employees.
S&P Global is seeking a seasoned Senior Director, Global Events to lead a global direct and indirect team focused on enhancing the event experience for both internal and external stakeholders.
You will be responsible for developing and implementing a global events strategy to support corporate executive events and deliver strategic planning sessions for senior stakeholders.
Play a key role in ensuring the effective and efficient management of global events in achieving S&P Global s enterprise strategic goals.
What s in it for You:
You will be responsible for executive events spanning the global organization, supporting our senior leadership team, Board, and CEO, working with local management teams at our global sites and delivering against business goals.
As a critical leader within the Office of the CEO, you will liaise with key stakeholders in legal, strategy, brand and communications to influence, design and deliver critical experiences for attendees
Lead events team responsible for events management and operations for global corporate events, leveraging the scale of S&P Global
Oversee planning and support for S&P Global Board Meetings, executive offsites and leadership meetings
Working across internal teams, define and deliver annual Events Management strategy
- Consult with internal stakeholders - customers to determine objectives and requirements for events, ensuring a customer centric strategy
Develop and execute common approaches and standards for global events for the corporate groups
In partnership with finance, procurement and others, identify opportunities to leverage S&P Global s scale to strengthen vendor partnerships and third party relationships
Working alongside the Events Leadership Council, identify opportunities to streamline events, apply a cohesive approach to branding, drive efficiencies (e.g., vendors, technologies, registration, etc.) and increase S&P Global impact
Define and institute metrics to measure effectiveness of events management
Demonstrate superb program management, vendor relationship management and budget management skills
Ensure department is working within budget and delivering efficient events operations annually, make appropriate adjustments
What We re Looking For:
- Bachelor s degree and 12 years events experience (production, management or development)
Proven, progressive experience in an enterprise-wide function, with demonstrated effectiveness leading global events or similar executive events and programs.
Strong leadership track record, with a global and strategic mindset
An exceptional influencer with solid interpersonal skills and executive presence
Extremely creative, resourceful and detail-oriented; must multitask and prioritize with ease in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
Ability to navigate complex environments, and help build relationships with a variety of stakeholders and organizations
Advanced program management skills including the ability to adapt to a changing environment and managing a wide variety of projects and superb budget management skills
Travel, flexible hours and weekend work as needed.
Experience and background in a similar position and interest in creative, high-tough executive events, a plus
A passion for events and delivering bespoke experiences for large, global organizations
Strong EQ and ability to work in a fast-paced, highly-matrixed, geographically diverse organization
