Microsoft Corporation Director, Marketing Capabilities & Technology in New York, New York

Microsoft’s Global Demand Center (GDC) delivers integrated marketing experiences for Microsoft by building, running, and innovating a globally scaled engine to deliver connected customer journeys that delight customers, create fans, drive business outcomes and insight. The GDC supports 1,000s of marketers, tens of thousands of sellers, generates or influences billions in revenue, operates in 40+ languages, and executes 10,000 digital and in person events a year. We are looking for a seasoned marketing capability and product manager to transform how we execute marketing and enable sales by bringing new capabilities to our platform. This includes ensuring end-to-end, Microsoft can, drive demand thru marketing tactics (i.e. paid media, events), score and route the appropriate leads to sellers or Partners, enable sellers with actionable workflow and insights via CRM and ensure analytics and reporting are enabled. To achieve this, this role will be collaborating with key business stakeholders across sales and marketing to define a capability roadmap and work with sales or marketing operations and engineering teams to deliver new functionality. This is a mission-critical role with substantial scope, complexity, executive visibility, has a large opportunity for impact, and is central to our growth strategy.

Capability Planning & Execution • Understands Microsoft’s sales and marketing business programs, objectives, and technology needs in depth and establishes a roadmap for marketing related capabilities. • Guides team in developing and communicating business justification, estimating business impact to drive prioritization of resources and alignment with short- and long-term revenue objectives. • Leads prioritization with GDC and other engineering teams, provides coaching and mentoring around planning and drives maintaining a clear backlog to assist in tracking project status and prioritization. • Reviews planning documents to ensure action and execution in team's work and drives standards around capability project management, communications, timelines, and dependencies to deliver new functionality. • Oversees the marketing capability budget, including forecasting and monitoring spend. • Preparing and delivering executive updates about the status of new capability delivery as a part of an ongoing business performance reviews. • Partners closely with many stakeholder teams to deliver new functionality which supports the Global Demand Center including Microsoft Customer & Partner Solutions (MCAPS), Core Marketing Engineering (CME) and Global Demand Center (GDC) teams.

Qualifications

Required/Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Business, Marketing, Communications, Finance, Engineering, or related field

AND 10+ years marketing operations and technology, program management, or related experience

OR equivalent experience.

Additional or Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Business, Marketing, Communications, Finance, Engineering, or related field

AND 12+ years marketing operations, program management, project management, or related experience

OR Master's Degree in Business, Marketing, Communications, Finance, Engineering, or related field

AND 8+ years marketing operations, program management, project management, or related experience

OR equivalent experience.

• 3+ years people management experience.

• 6+ years technology/process improvement experience.

For Colorado residents, the salary range for this role is from $151,486- 173,134. At Microsoft certain roles are eligible for additional rewards, including annual bonus and stock. These awards are allocated based on individual performance. In addition, certain roles also have the opportunity to earn sales incentives based on revenue or utilization, depending on the terms of the plan and the employee’s roles
