Ankura Director, National Security, Trade & Technology (CFIUS Experience) in New York, New York

Ankura is a team of excellence founded on innovation and growth.

This position supports the National Security, Trade & Technology group within the Risk, Forensics & Compliance practice - one of six practices focused on client delivery services across the Firm.

CFIUS Solutions at Ankura:

Today’s rapidly changing global political and economic environment is dramatically impacting the ways in which governments view their national security posture and trade and technology controls. As a result, the legal and regulatory landscape is dynamically evolving, with new and impactful security and compliance requirements and developments seemingly occurring every day. Ankura’s national security, trade, & technology practice provides unrivaled subject matter expertise and tailored solutions to help companies, investors, organizations, and their counsel navigate this rapidly changing business and compliance environment.

Specific to the Committee on Foreign Investment in the United States (CFIUS), a larger number of investment transactions are facing greater levels of scrutiny and more in-depth analyses on their national security impact than ever before. To successfully operate in this heightened risk environment, transactional parties must thoroughly understand the potential threats posed by a foreign acquirer or its host nation, the vulnerabilities presented by the US target company or asset if subject to foreign access or control, and the various methods by which such risks can be adequately assessed, mitigated, and monitored to the satisfaction of CFIUS stakeholders.

Ankura offers a unique blend of industry-leading expertise to assist clients to successfully navigate all stages of the CFIUS process. Ankura’s CFIUS team includes former intelligence professionals who developed the CFIUS threat assessment process, corporate and financial executives who understand deals and companies, compliance professionals who have monitored and audited complex CFIUS mitigation agreements, and military and government officials who understand and can credibly address US national security concerns.
