Vedder Price is seeking a Director of Attorney Affiliations to join one of their US locations. The Director of Attorney Affiliations is responsible for facilitating the development and execution of the Firm's global attorney recruiting strategies in order to attract and retain high quality attorneys and summer associates and to enhance the visibility and reputation of the Firm in the legal talent community and at top tier law schools. The Director of Attorney Affiliations will manage the Firm's attorney recruiting programs focused on the following: (1) lateral shareholders, partners, associates and counsel, (2) new associates/law school graduates and (3) on campus interviewing and hiring for the Firm's summer associate program.

As the Director of Attorney Affiliations, your duties will include but not be limited to:

Direct and manage the Firm's global Attorney Legal Recruiting function, including overseeing the recruitment of shareholders, associates, and counsel

Direct and oversee recruiting through the On Campus Interview process and the Summer Associate program

Direct and manage the administrative support of the Attorney Legal Recruiting function and the Attorney Affiliation Committee (the "Committee")

Work directly with the Chair of the Committee and the Operating Shareholder to implement recruiting strategic planning initiatives

Work closely with the members of the Committee, including the Practice Area Leaders and Office Managing Shareholders, for guidance on assessing recruiting strategies and hiring needs and to gain a full understanding of the unique goals of each practice in order to advance business objectives

Manage and supervise the Attorney Legal Recruiting team, keeping current on recruiting trends and developing and implementing best practices

Align recruiting efforts and processes to create a candidate focused experience for all attorney hires

Provide consistent training opportunities to ensure that internal and external recruiters are actively engaged in full cycle recruiting efforts

Consistently analyze data to determine whether recruiting tools are being utilized to the fullest potential

Work with the Marketing team to enhance recruiting and increase brand awareness

Partner with the Human Resources team to follow all legal hiring requirements

Prepare and present recruiting reporting and metrics

Perform other duties as assigned

Skills & Competencies:

Demonstrated experience effectively adapting workflow and processes to changing circumstances while communicating trends and changes within the attorney recruiting market

Strong demonstrated experience with recruiting processes and procedures

Strong skills in written and verbal communication, analytics and troubleshooting, and attention to detail

Exemplary interpersonal skills, including the ability to communicate and interface effectively and courteously across all levels within and outside the Firm

Ability to handle sensitive and/or confidential matters, and to work effectively with limited supervision and/or in a team environment

Ability to handle multiple projects with shifting priorities

Qualifications & Required Experience:

Bachelor's degree or the equivalent in work experience preferred; JD preferred

Minimum 5+ years of Recruiting experience preferred, in a professional services environment or law firm

Prior management experience and ability to lead a team required

Computer Skills:

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be proficient in the following software:

Minimum intermediate level of proficiency with MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint & Outlook)

Working knowledge of applicant tracking systems and other recruiting tools, including LinkedIn
