Morgan Lewis & Bockius LLP Director of Collaborative Solutions in New York, New York
Morgan, Lewis & Bockius LLP, one of the world's leading global law firms with more than 4,000 lawyers and staff in 31 offices, is currently seeking a Director of Collaborative Solutions. The selected candidate would be responsible for driving implementation and adoption of collaborative technologies at Morgan Lewis. This role will be managing a team of developers and content managers, to design and build products using technologies including Microsoft's Azure cloud and SharePoint to give best-in-class collaboration experiences to the firm's practices and lawyers. This senior role will partner across the Knowledge Management team, the Technology department and others as needed, working hand in hand with the CKO and Senior Director in leading these efforts to bring to attorneys best in class enterprise solutions.
Lead the knowledge solutions development function in the Knowledge Solutions team, encompassing all firmwide collaborative Knowledge Solution products.
Lead user design efforts with a strong focus on the user experience and user interfaces.
Lead the development team in building and customizing integrated solution, while keeping a 'buy first' ideology.
Lead governance efforts for all owned collaborative solutions, to ensure content is well-maintained, well-documented, and stays relevant from cradle-to-grave.
Work with the Knowledge Solutions PMO to create and maintain:
An integrated project portfolio roadmap, focusing and identifying timelines, risk, and budget
Collaboration products marketing plans including implementation communication plans, increasing awareness of new and existing knowledge products, and other periodic communication methods.
Create presentations and communications to firm leadership on the status and state of Knowledge Solutions.
Effectively manage implementation against the project roadmap to ensure maximum lawyer engagement
Liaise with business professionals across the firm as necessary in course of duties
Lead team initiatives for project and process improvement
Leads by example; establishes clear expectations; sets direction and priorities; ensures that work levels are balanced among all staff; resolves internal staff issues in a timely manner; keeps staff informed of all appropriate information; builds effective team; delegates at appropriate level.
Facilitates the development of staff by providing opportunities and support; provides timely feedback on work product; regularly coaches, evaluates, and recognizes staff performance and accomplishments.
Establishes/adheres to Department budget; seeks opportunities to improve Department efficiency and reduce expenses by streamlining operations.
The incumbent of this job directly supervises non-supervisory employees. He/she carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the firm's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
This job requires:
a Bachelor's degree (B. A.) from four-year college or university,
minimum 7 years of experience, with at least 5 in management or leadership role.
