Adviser Compliance Associates LLC Director of Data Management in New York, New York

The Opportunity

The Director of Data Management is responsible for leading data projects and managing vendor data providers, managing the ComplianceAlpha security master, pricing and economics data, and data integration solutions between Alpha modules. As the Director of Data Management, you will be responsible for identifying and communicating business requirements, building data provider relationships, negotiating data contracts, designing and overseeing the architecture, build-out and day to day operations of the Alpha security and pricing master as well as related support activities.

What you'll do:

Work with various data vendors to ensure ComplianceAlpha security and company master and other data requirements, such as pricing data, are met and that proper data quality checks and balances are in place.

Work with the Alpha engineering team to design, maintain and guide the implementation of the Alpha security master including normalized and dimensional data structures, ETL solutions, integration solutions, database sizing, capacity planning, maintenance, etc.

Help build out ACA's enterprise data strategies and drive the execution of these strategies with business product managers and other stakeholders.

Participate in business requirements gathering and assist in translating business requirements into technical requirements for Developers.

Manage the technical execution of development tasks to ensure that solutions add real business value, system architecture is aligned with business goals, and the design is consistent with the enterprise architecture strategy

Manage security master support engineers and ensure that data related support tasks and issues are understood and resolved.

Have hands on knowledge on all technical aspect of the Alpha security master.

Be a major contributor to the long term data strategy for the ComplianceAlpha Platform

To qualify for the role you must have:

8+ years of experience in working with security, company, and pricing data

Strong working knowledge of various securities symbology (CUSIP, SEDOL, ISIN, RED codes, etc.) across all asset classes (equities, fixed income, listed and OTC derivatives)

Strong working knowledge of corporate symbology (e.g. DUNS), hierarchies, beneficial ownership structures, and global data providers

Strong working knowledge of end-of-day and intraday pricing and economics data sources

Solid experience building data management strategies

Working knowledge of integration methodologies (REST API, CSV flat file, etc.)

Strong knowledge of MS SQL server, SSIS, BI tools and data modeling

Financial services industry experience and security master experience required.

BA/BS or foreign equivalent in computer science, engineering, or similar field of study

Skills and attributes for success:

Experience with negotiating reseller/distribution agreements with data vendors

Consulting, finance or compliance experience a plus.

Ideally, you'll also have:

People management skills and ability toeffectively collaborate with cross functional teams

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

Ability to multitask and prioritize work

Demonstrates leadership qualities and experience. Can work with business stakeholders from a variety of departments.

Hands on experience working with SaaS products
