Stuttering Association for the Young Director of Operations in New York, New York

Primary Responsibilities:
The Operations Director will organize and oversee the daily operations of our company. They will be the one to ensure that our business is well-coordinated and productive by managing its procedures and driving daily office management, systems upkeep, special event production, summer camp planning/operational logistics, other program logistics and more.

The area of responsibility for this role is wide, the ideal candidate must be competent and able to plan many different kinds of operational activities. They must be an excellent leader who can discover the most efficient ways to help run the business.

Key job duties:
• Fundraising Events - Tactical Event and Programming Planning, including lead-up activities (including volunteer outreach, guest communications, list generation, event supplies & more), plus on-site leadership duties for SAY’s annual fundraising events, including the Paul Rudd Bowling Benefit, Annual Gala, and George Springer Bowling Benefit. Virtual Events as well.
• Summer Camp Logistical & Operational Support & Management - Work with Camp SAY programming team on logistical elements, including Camp office, travel, space reservations, due diligence, and other projects as assigned for 2-week summer camp and short-form weekend camp programs across the USA and Toronto. Run Camp SAY office during summer camp.
• Office Management - Accomplish a broad range of office duties, including supply & conference room management, office mailings and printing support, transportation arrangements, liaise with outside vendors (i.e. IT Support, Zoom) and more.
• Program Performances - Provide lead-up, and on-site front-of-house leadership for SAY’s culminating program performances (8-10 annually)
• Development & Marketing Support - Work with Development and Marketing departments, processing a broad range of donor gifts in SAY’s database, generate database reports, lead printing/mailing projects, online auction solicitation/management, and accomplish other database and development/marketing projects, as assigned.
• Volunteers - Maintain ongoing communication and coordination with SAY’s incredible volunteers, and coordinate volunteers for in-office projects, program performances, and fundraising events. Vet new volunteers as they inquire.
• Manage external vendors, as appropriate.
• Added duties, as assigned.

• Minimum of 3-4 years of professional experience. Event, database, and/or non-profit experience a plus.
• Proven experience as Operations Director or equivalent position
• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
• Exceptional organizational, planning & problem-solving skills
• Great attention to detail
• Excellent time management skills; ability to manage a high volume of projects and deadlines simultaneously, and adapt to changing deliverables & timelines
• Proficient in computer software programs. Experience with Blackbaud, and/or other non-profit/fundraising database CRM software and systems a plus.
• Associate or Bachelor's degree
