Adviser Compliance Associates LLC Director of Tax in New York, New York

Description
What you'll do:

Collaboration with outside accounting firms on tax compliance functions,
tax accounting, transfer pricing and other tax projects

Lead the management and preparation of ACA's U.S. federal, state and
foreign income tax and non-income tax/informational returns
(partnership, C Corporation and SALT returns), including quarterly
payments and partner distributions

Ensure accurate, timely filing of consolidated federal, state and local
and foreign income tax returns and other business related filings

Plan for and develop overall return calendar and coordinate timing and
inputs with the accounting team and outside accounting firms

Maintain effective control procedures over all aspects of the tax
process

Monitoring and analyzing tax regulatory and compliance requirements and
tax law changes both domestically and in the foreign countries where the
company has operations and communicate the impact to ACA's Controller
and CFO

Manage and facilitate IRS, state and local income tax audits: preparing
responses, creating schedules, etc.

Compute the U.S. GAAP global tax provision for income tax under ASC 740
for domestic and foreign subsidiaries, R&D credit analysis and review of
business agreements for tax implications

Prepare and file/process payment of domestic state and local taxes,
which include gross receipts, sales/use, foreign value-added tax,
unclaimed property, and property tax returns

Work with human resources on payroll tax compliance matters

Assist with client tax compliance questions that arise during the
negotiation/contracts process or for client questions on sales tax

Handle transfer pricing and management fee arrangements

Maintain tax records of all filings, payments and reconciliation of tax
receivable, liability and current and deferred tax expense for both U.S.
and foreign tax jurisdictions

Perform ad-hoc work/special projects as necessary to support ACA on
various client and internal initiatives

To qualify for the role you must have:

Bachelor's Degree required - major in accounting, with a focus in tax
required. Graduate degree a plus.

Five (5) to eight (8) combined years of experience in a tax compliance
role (federal, state and local tax) with a public accounting firm and/or
with a professional services firm

Proficient in a variety of tax operations and ability to drive process
improvements

Proficient in individual/corporate/partnership tax compliance and
knowledgeable with U.S. federal, state and local reporting
requirements

Strong accounting, analytical, research, organization and interpersonal
skills
