Great products are monetized by deeply understanding our market and our customers - who they are, what motivates them to buy, why they behave the way they do, and how they value our brand, our products, our services, and the overall market. Adoption of great products/experience requires product-market fit as well as effective pricing and packaging, and the ability to successfully create and implement a cross-functional plan.

What we need:

We are currently dreaming up (and building) some really cool products and looking at how we continue to evolve our brand and our marketplace. To do this we need to better understand who our customers are, how they make purchasing decisions, how they value product experiences and growth.

This will require us to build a pricing and packaging function that increases customer value and drives business revenue and margin growth across our entire platform and marketplace. This is where you come in. We are looking for a proactive leader with proven success in a cross-functional environment responsible for researching, validating, analyzing and implementing a pricing and packaging strategy to achieve our business objectives. You should have experience in analytical modeling, SaaS and marketplace pricing strategies, and an appreciation for implementing across currencies, culture and buying behaviors in a global market.

The day to day:

Develop a deep understanding of the market, and how Shutterstock product pricing and packaging differentiates our position globally

Own pricing and packaging for the company to maximize LTV, margin, competitive pressures and currency fluctuation

Analyze audience segments and propose and model opportunities to improve customer experience and long term growth of the company

Drive cross-functional collaboration to validate assumptions, execute on pricing strategies, and measure against key KPIs

Establish trust and build confidence with cross-functional partners and executive leadership in Finance, Sales Product, Sales, Marketing to drive launch decisions

Develop a framework for rapid iteration and validation of pricing and packaging concepts

Share industry-leading and competitor pricing strategies across the company

Extensively post GIFs and emojis throughout Slack channels.

What does the first six months look like?

Dive in deeply to customer, competitor and market pricing models and quickly get up to speed on the existing pricing models

Lead the analysis of product packaging frameworks. Collaborate with product, finance, sales and other global teams to translate research into compelling pricing strategies that resonate with target personas, verticals, and segments

Work collaboratively with product, product marketing, finance, sales and engineering teams to develop the back-end support for pricing experiments, validation and implementation

Analyze, model and propose a unified approach to pricing/packaging strategy and iteration

What you bring to the role:

You have around ten years of professional experience in a quantitative or analytical role with five years of direct pricing / packaging responsibility (finance, accounting, consulting, product marketing)

You have demonstrated success to drive multi-year, double-digit revenue and profitability growth through pricing frameworks

You have experience modeling and implementing pricing and packaging that excited multiple personas, verticals and global markets

You have strong communication and collaboration skills across all levels and functions of a global organization

You are a proactive self-starter, comfortable working across multiple functions to get things done

You're comfortable working with lots of data

You have experience in marketplace, SaaS or ecommerce
