Director, Product Management

Enterprise Customer Intelligence (ECI) is a team of product managers, data scientists, program managers and engineers who are passionate about enabling financial products to be aware and adaptive to consumers' needs. We develop APIs, data platforms and tools for Capital One to develop and apply continuous customer understanding and context in all our consumer products and experiences.

We believe deep understanding of our customers will help us deliver simple, intuitive, and innovative experiences, drive differentiation in the marketplace, and simultaneously create business and consumer value.

The Role:

We are looking for a seasoned product leader to manage our emerging collection of Digital Data Management products and help establish digital data as the most discoverable, trustworthy and accessible data across the entire Enterprise.

We are the data stewards for every bit of data generated by each of our Digital products, from clickstream to servicing to messaging to customer insight platforms. The tools and solutions we're building to manage the discoverability, reliability and accessibility of this data will enable executive leadership, product managers and analysts to discover and unlock its value and drive business decisions, while also equipping our data scientists with the quality of data needed to leverage machine learning and unleash transformative customer insights.


Lead product strategy to significantly improve the data discovery, trustworthiness, understanding and access experience for all data consumers in the Digital organizations

Develop empathy and understanding of current challenges for all Digital data consumers

Develop and nurture collaborative working relationships with key internal partners including business teams, product teams, enterprise data management and risk organizations

Collaborate with enterprise technology, data and architecture teams to inform our data systems, infrastructure priorities and roadmaps

Translate between business requirements and technology specifications - in both directions: top-down and bottom-up

Manage inter-team and technology dependencies to mitigate project and product risks

Work with product and business partners to improve adoption and user experience of Digital data management tools, services and solutions

Built out a full product team including directly recruiting exceptional product managers and partnering with Tech to support the recruiting of engineering talent to execute your product vision

The ideal candidate will have:

Proven track record in balancing customer outcomes, business needs and technical feasibility and delivery

Experience navigating large organizations, developing collaborative relationship and influencing across various partner groups

Technical competency in areas including distributed storage and computing, streaming data, large-scale data analytics, machine learning, and general software design and development

Exceptional leadership skills and tested team building, management, and people development experience

Comfort operating in a fast-paced dynamic environment and managing change

Basic Qualifications:

Bachelor's Degree or military experience

At least 5 years of experience in digital product management: working with cross-functional teams to deliver internal and external consumer experiences or core product platforms that power those experiences

Preferred Qualifications:

MBA or applicable master's degree

At least 5 years of experience partnering directly with engineers and designers in an agile delivery environment to deliver exceptional customer experience

At least 5 years of experience building internal-facing products

At least 5 years platform tools, API, backend systems product development experience in an Agile environment
