Related Partners Director, Retail Marketing (The Shops at Columbus Circle) in New York, New York

The Marketing Director will be responsible for developing and implementing a strategic marketing and branding plan for The Shops at Columbus Circle with the result of increased net operating income (NOI), center sales, and traffic. The Marketing Director will report to the Vice President/General Manager and will be based in midtown.

  • Responsible for developing, implementing and evaluating the performance of an annual marketing plan and related budget. This includes, but is not limited to:

  • loyalty onsite marketing campaigns and programs

  • digital and social marketing campaign programs

  • public relations

  • onsite/offsite traditional, digital and OOH advertising

  • special events and entertainment

  • décor

  • employee and tourism marketing

  • CRM / email campaigns

  • Establish positive tenant relations and store productivity through retail focused programs consistent with the marketing plan strategies.

  • Responsible for developing and managing an annual retail-focused publicity plan along with establishing and maintaining positive media relations and maximizing positive publicity for the shopping center and its stores.

  • Plan, coordinate, and execute community relations plan.

  • Implement community events and and activities relevant to cross-marketing opportunities and overall strategy.

  • Develop and execute an annual tourism marketing strategy to drive visitations and spend. Identify key national/international, regional and local inbound markets.

  • Responsible for selling and fulfilling sponsorship programs along with sponsorship implementation and cost analysis for each program.

  • Responsible for new business development of potential sponsors and the fulfillment of sponsorship programs.

  • Responsible for the center’s market research program, including standard and custom studies.

  • Act as an integral member of the shopping center management team.

  • Assists VP/General Manager in analyzing data and in writing executive reports.

  • Bachelor’s Degree required in a related discipline; CMD designation a plus.

  • Requires minimum 7-10 years industry or equivalent years’ experience in marketing disciplines.

  • Technical competency in all marketing disciplines.

  • Sponsorship experience with knowledge of the sales process, interacting with potential clients, and negotiation skills.

  • Ability to lift up to 10 pounds (such as required in arranging windows, displays, show materials, etc.).

  • Significant physical mobility is required. Required continual movement around the center, into and out of virtually every type of retail setting, public facilities (auditoriums, schools, etc.).

  • Requires occasional long hours especially during the Holiday season.

  • Strong written, verbal and communication skills.
