Visa Director, Solution Design and Architecture - North America Product in New York, New York

The Director of Solution Architecture will work across Visa's priority product lines to ensure that products are built to successfully scale in North America (NA). In this role, you will be a trusted advisor to NA Product leadership, responsible for evaluating and shaping the design of Visa's priority products within North America. This role will work across key product lines as installments, tokenization, loyalty, and more. We are looking for a technically savvy individual who can bring client needs fully into both the product development and go-to-market processes. You are a seasoned leader with strong technical knowledge, client focus, and most importantly an interest in continuous learning. This role reports to the Senior Director, Solution Architecture in Visa's NA Product organization. RESPONSIBILITIES * Support the growth of Visa's priority products by evaluating their technical and commercial design against client needs and market dynamics * Partner with internal product development teams to define and prioritize NA specific product requirements * Design solutions to support strategic proof of concepts * Work with interdisciplinary teams across product development, technology, innovation and design, engineering and payment ecosystem partners in the development of applied innovations * Evaluate new product concepts for fit to NA, delivering assessments to senior leadership * Work with Visa clients to understand their business opportunities and challenges * Identify opportunities for innovation with both clients and internal teams This position is open to the following locations: San Francisco, CA; New York City; Foster City, CA; Atlanta, GA and Austin, Texas. This is a hybrid position. Hybrid employees can alternate time between both remote and office. Employees in hybrid roles are expected to work from the office two days a week, Tuesdays and Wednesdays with a general guidepost of being in the office 50% of the time based on business needs. Basic Qualifications : • 10 or more years of work experience with a Bachelor Degree or at least 8 years of work experience with an Advanced Degree (e.g. Masters/ MBA/JD/MD) or at least 3 years of work experience with a PhD • Ability to articulate product value proposition to executive level business stakeholders and also explain technical details to developer level contacts • Experience working with BRDs, Solution Design Documents, and Process Flow Diagrams • Payments industry/fintechs/digital tech experience or similar relevant experience • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills Preferred Qualifications : • 12 or more years of work experience with a Bachelor Degree or 8-10 years of experience with an Advanced Degree (e.g. Masters, MBA, JD, MD) or 6 or more years of work experience with a PhD • Experience working with APIs in various technology environments • Experience and high comfort level working in an agile environment • Product design/development experience • Proven ability to work on complex and often ambiguous problems • Excellent facilitator and moderator • Self-starter with a disposition to work independently with a commitment to detail in an organized manner. • Comfortable working independently in fast-paced environment Visa has adopted a COVID-19 vaccination policy to safeguard the health and well-being of our employees and visitors.
