Conde Nast Entertainment's global digital video teams create premium video content showcasing Conde Nast's iconic global brands. Delivering on average over 1 billion video views per month, the team currently produces 4,000+ digital videos per year in all genres including non-scripted, documentary, how-to, comedy, animation, scripted, branded, virtual reality and (live) event programming.
We are looking for a creative and strategic leader to drive the continued growth of Conde Nast Entertainment's leading digital video and audio business, a primary function in our evolution into a 21st century world class entertainment company. As Executive Director, Programming and Development, Teen Vogue, them. And LOVE you will manage some of Conde Nast's most innovative brands. You will build, oversee, and grow a digital video and audio IP portfolio and content strategy focused on English language content for US audiences. This role is based in New York and reports to the VP, Digital Video Programming and Development, Culture (English Language).
The purpose of this role is to build and operate a programming and development team to drive audience growth and engagement with a focus on commercial revenue, delivering on Conde Nast's preeminent portfolio of brands in the forms of:
Original, social, and podcast content for digital platforms (e.g. O&O, Instagram, TikTok, Snap, Facebook, Twitter, Youtube,, Apple iTunes, Spotify), with focus on premium, scalable quality
Live cultural events
Video franchises that transcend platforms and markets
Formulate and define editorial strategy for them. and LOVE that are culturally relevant and socially aware
Ideate and conceptualize content that speaks to a diverse and highly engaged audience
Execute these editorial strategies to deliver content through all channels
Lead teams responsible for content ideation and execution
Act as a representative for the publication for external events, advertisers and business partners
Drive the evolution of the publication, executing the goals defined by both Conde Nast and the leadership team
Oversee content production on all channels and platforms while maintaining the highest quality journalism
Encourage collaboration and overcome creative challenges while simultaneously meeting business objectives
Build audiences for the brand by partnering with teams to drive audience growth and engagement
Assign and top-line edit content across all platforms
Work in tandem with Conde Nast leadership team to produce content that meets Conde Nast standards and expectations
Collaborate with Finance on budget and hiring plans
Work with the marketing/creative teams on all opportunities that are within the brand's standards
Work with the marketing team to develop a print and digital subscription strategy
Continue to build event strategy in collaboration with the business side to ideate and execute original, brand-appropriate events
IP Portfolio Management
Oversee programming strategy for English language US audiences, creating digital video and podcast content of Original, Cultural and Franchise IP that deliver on the brands' journalistic integrity and attributes and optimize appeal on designated exhibition/distribution platforms
Drive CNE business goals through a strategic integrated programming calendar with a wide variety of digital video-led and podcast ideas - from large-scale production and events to nimble concepts, packaged for US commercial and/or consumer revenue business models
Increase the volume and variety of our digital video and podcast content across multiple platforms, leveraging a firm understanding of digital metrics and data analytics
Drive storytelling development and execution, bringing fresh perspective to both the content itself and the people, processes and workflows behind it (e.g. rough cut notes, team screenings)
Establish and own processes that ensure for creative excellence. In partnership with Global Physical Production, this includes accountability for the quality of the video execution, including the review, edit, and approval of preliminary and final treatments, outlines, shooting scripts, casting, production schedules, budgets, selects, graphics, music, rough cuts, fine cuts, final narration and final versions of all applicable new programming.
Motivate ideation and iteration, leveraging a foundation of existing successful formats and IP while also exploring new digital video frontiers.
Embed with the brand editorial and creative teams, collaborating on annual editorial calendars, covers, columns, and tent poles as well as reacting to breaking news and real time events that may drive video storytelling.
Work closely with Content Planning and Analytics and audience development to engage existing fans and appeal to new viewers and advertisers
Partner with CNE Marketing and Branded Entertainment teams to establish workflows for programming plan reviews and creative collaboration, with the goal of creating quarterly and seasonal commercial packages and branded extensions of major editorial initiatives

Co-locate with Teen Vogue, them., and LOVE editorial teams, creating a team structure of subject-matter experts in digital video content and platforms that is accountable to CNE and Conde Nast KPI's
Partner with Global Physical Production to establish workflows from inception to execution that deliver quality and exceptional storytelling, consistent communication, swift decision making, efficient budgeting, scheduling and deadline enforcement
Partner with Business Affairs & Operations to negotiate strategic deal terms with digital-first talent for original content across entertainment formats (digital video, podcasts), IP rights and distribution and/or licensing
Work closely with the People/HR and Legal enabling functions to establish and enforce recruiting, hiring management and compensation policies to attract world-class full-time employees
Desired Skills and Qualifications:
10+ years experience in the digital media space as a professional and capable leader with inclusive style that garners respect and trust across stakeholders and team members
Excellent track record growing audience, overseeing creative execution, developing brand appropriate programming while achieving sustained digital and critical success
Proven ability to operate, balancing long-term value with near-term business goals, ability to manage heavy workload and prioritize appropriately
Entrepreneurial, strategic and holistic mindset, eagerness to learn and build, and a reputation as an innovative, adaptable and proactive "doer" with desire to differentiate Conde Nast from the competition
Established creative sensibility, with soup to nuts experience in concept creation and execution of digital videos that have driven deep, organic engagement across multiple platforms; extensive experience providing creative evaluation, advice and feedback
Knowledge of internet culture and digital video landscape (e.g. YouTube, Facebook, Instagram), the unique elements of each video platform and what makes particular videos successful on those platforms
Proven ability to proactively identify and implement effective solutions to problems and to create infrastructure from whole cloth while under intense security and time pressure
Strong organizational skills and ability to prioritize and meet deadlines
Strong interpersonal communication skills (written and oral) with an emotionally intelligent communication style
Successful experience navigating matrixed organizations
Experience within a start-up or new line of business within a large, established company
Familiarity with the brands and businesses of Conde Nast
