The Boston Consulting Group Events Manager in New York, New York

WHAT YOU'LL DO

Seeking a confident and creative events manager to join the New York Operations team. Reporting directly to the Operations Senior Manager, the Events Manager oversees the strategy and delivery of internal and external office events, conferences and initiatives, and contributes to the development of key partnerships and programs. The Event Manager will be responsible for line management of the events team members, programming, planning, and execution of all NYC events. The Events Manager is an out-of-the-box and sophisticated thinker with a strong events and logistical background, an ability to innovate and thrive in an analytic environment, who finds fulfillment in building community through events.
YOU'RE GOOD AT

Events

Responsible for the end-to-end management of events including, but not limited to: internal affiliation events, health and wellness programs, community service initiatives, family oriented parties and retreats, off-site and industry conferences, client entertainment, alumni engagement, and brand-building events

In partnership with Office Leadership, develops events programming that infuses the BCG brand, values, and office aspirations into new and existing events including but not limited to those for for new-hires, mentorship and training engagements, and Inclusion Accelerator initiatives

Maintains a rigorous debrief and analysis process to ensure programming is innovative with a clear ROI

Ensures all event logistics are facilitated, including RSVP management, CRM diligence, and debriefs conducted

Responsible for adherence to all liability, confidentiality, health and safety requirements

Cultivates and curates relationships with a diverse set of vendors, partners, and local businesses and operates events team as a center of excellence for all NYC area events

Directly plans large-scale and high stakes events including 1,000+ person staff retreats and parties, Partner retreats, and key client events

Diligently manages Events budget and facilitates approval process for board contributions and other branding events

Marketing and Communications

Drives strategy and execution of key client and Alumni engagement opportunities as a member of Brand New York council

Acts as local liaison for North America Regional (NAMR) Marketing team and Global Events Center of Excellence supporting strategic initiatives and aligning local resources for NYC-based events

Works with Internal Communications to develop and design branded event collateral, invitations, and other marketing materials

Creates polished presentations and decks as they relate to specific projects and events

Serves as a liaison with BCG partnerships including museums and non-profit organizations

Communications/Research

Responsible to developing office-wide events calendar and communications plan and ensuring internal platforms are appropriately leveraged

Researches new opportunities within the NY community including but not limited to cultural institutions, venues, vendors and potential business relationships

Maintains resource files of sites, hotels, meeting rooms, and associated vendors

Creates surveys and analyzes data as it relates to event attendance and feedback

Customer Service

Exudes a hospitality mindset with a hyper focus on the total customer service experience

Acts as a liaison for all BCG subcommittees, including: Family and Culture, Health and Wellness, Community Service and Affiliation/ Teambuilding.
YOU BRING (EXPERIENCE & QUALIFICATIONS)

Bachelor's degree required

Minimum of 7 years event planning experience required

Some travel required

Extended and evening hours will be required during peak demand season and events

Computer proficiency: Microsoft Suite, Photoshop or InDesign, Salesforce Suite, CRM, Tableau

Demonstrates strong interpersonal skills conveying a positive personal and professional image and project self-confidence and enthusiasm

Commitment to environmental sustainability best practices and advancing DEI through events and supplier procurement

Excellent stakeholder management

Working knowledge of slide writing and graphic design

Strong verbal and written communication skills

Strong process/project management and negotiation skills

Experience in marketing and design work; specifically invitations, logos and signage

Savvy budget management and comfort prioritizing

Meticulous attention to detail

Recognize and maintain confidentiality
