Executive Director, Ecommerce - Estee Lauder North America:
The Executive Director, Ecommerce will lead the overall Email, Retention Marketing, and Promotional strategy & execution for Estee Lauder North America. They will direct the day-to-day online operations relating to esteelauder.com/.ca’s promotions with oversight responsibility for top line sales, KPIs, Email/GWP/Promotional SKU budget and maintaining bottom line profit targets for both US & CA.
They will also lead the strategy & execution of the Estee Lauder’s E-list Loyalty Program. A collaborative, analytical and strategic thinker is required to deliver business results, analyze performance, and provide recommendations to maximize the business. It is imperative that this person be familiar with marketing and technology opportunities that increase sales and drive customer retention.
Reports to the VP E-Commerce, Estee Lauder North America. Currently manages 2 direct reports. Key partners include: Global Creative, Production, Inventory Planning, Distribution Centers, Customer Service, Corporate Partners and 3 rd Party Vendors.
Promotions and Retention Marketing
Lead strategy, planning and execution of all on-site promotions for both US & CA in partnership with VP E-commerce, GMs and Global Online. Join monthly Forecasting and P&L reviews to ensure we are on track to meet our targets. Drive Mitigation planning as needed.
Provide topline weekly business insights and recurring monthly performance reviews for Senior Leadership.
Oversee all promotional product forecasts, including seasonal GWPs, PWPs, samples and full-size giveaways. Work with Brand Operations to take advantage of cost efficiencies for marketing and promotional programs.
Lead on site sampling strategy, forecasting, execution, and analysis, focusing on driving cost effective sample to full size conversion.
Lead the request/QA of all on site promotions as well as promotional go-live timing/cadence for each offer.
Partner with internal teams on monthly excess inventory calls to ensure we are utilizing for programming where applicable.
Lead Email team responsible for strategy and execution of all Email programming (broadcast & trigger) for both US & CA. Develop and optimize cost effective ongoing database segmentation plans to maximize revenue and engagement while minimizing opt-outs and opt-downs.
Lead the relationships with our 3 rd party email vendors as well as tracking/processing all invoices.
Lead creative request submission, feedback, and sign off on all HP and Email creative assets for US & CA. Partner with Global Online Creative to ensure strict deadlines are adhered to.
Manage growth and maintenance of Email file for US & CA. Develop unique programs to drive opt-ins, churn prevention and retention in partnership with Global Creative, Email Agency.
Remain on top of industry trends within Retention Marketing, leading the A/B testing plan in partnership with our 3 rd party vendors.
Own analyzing and recapping Email, HP and Promotion performance on a regular basis, sharing and applying key insights. Own maintenance and distribution of promotional calendar.
Partner with Planning and our 3 rd party logistics team to ensuring promotional skus are balanced across our network of DCs prior to key promotions to minimize split shipments.
Lead external teams on special projects related to gaining a deeper understanding of the active customer file. Make recommendation based on analysis.
Lead E-list Loyalty Program Strategy & Execution in partnership with Global Online.
Develop cost effective programs to drive program enrollment and benefit redemption/repeat purchase.
Partner with North America Sales and Marketing to drive omni-channel opportunities and initiatives.
Report on and oversee measurement of the program’s performance.
Must have a proven track record of delivering E-commerce growth, including 10 years of E-commerce experience. Preferably owned Email Marketing and Promotion planning.
Must have the ability to translate Brand vision to the online channel and execute strategies that lead the company consistently towards that vision.
Must have strong skills in strategy and planning, budget and P/L management, merchandising, and marketing.
Proven leadership and team management skills derived from having direct responsibility for building and managing a cohesive, high-performing team.
Needs to be a creative and analytical thinker and problem solver, thrive in fast paced environment, prioritize, and oversee multiple projects at once, have attention to detail and work well with cross functional teams.
Braze (ESP), Moveable Ink and Google Analytics experience a plus.
Strong written and verbal communication skills. Ability to communicate complex ideas and processes in a simplified manner.
BA/BS required, MBA preferred.
