Job Summary
We are seeking a highly motivated Accounting Intern to join our finance team. This position offers an excellent opportunity to gain hands-on experience in the fast-paced world of equities trading and broker-dealer services. The intern will assist with financial reporting, account reconciliation, and contribute to various projects in compliance and risk management.
Responsibilities:
Assist in preparing and analyzing financial statements
Support daily accounting tasks, including journal entries and ledger maintenance
Participate in monthly and quarterly closing processes
Collaborate with the accounting team in the reconciliation of trading accounts
Help in the preparation of tax documents and compliance reports
Engage in special projects related to financial planning and risk assessment
Work closely with senior accountants and financial analysts to understand the broker-dealer operations
Requirements
Currently enrolled in a Bachelor’s degree program in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
Strong academic record and a fundamental understanding of accounting principles
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other Office applications
Excellent analytical, numerical, and problem-solving skills
Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
Availability to work full-time during the summer
Ability to commute to Midtown Manhattan (office located next to Penn Station)
Self-starter with ability to tackle any assigned projects
SAT and/or ACT scores must be submitted with application to be considered
$39/hour pay rate
