Business Consulting Senior Manager, Financial Services Risk Management – Credit Risk: This position could be located in NY (primary), NC, IL, GA, TX.

The Credit Risk practice offers global and regional financial services clients the assistance needed to enhance their credit risk management capabilities in a rapidly changing business environment. We assemble experienced multidisciplinary teams, use consistent and proven global methodologies, and draw on the full breadth of EY’s global reach, depth of capabilities, and knowledge.

The objective of our Credit Risk practice is to support financial services organizations as they seek to enhance their credit risk management capabilities. You can expect to work with clients on a variety of challenging engagements, including but not limited to target operating model design and implementation, functional assessments, transformation initiatives, governance enhancement, and climate risk initiatives.

Your key responsibilities:

As a Senior Manager, you will lead large-scale client engagements and consistently deliver quality client services and high-quality work products within expected timeframes and budget. You will be a project leader who is responsible for both the client relationship as well as driving team performance. Senior Managers of this level will have well-established client relationship and communications skills, working methodologies to manage his/her project(s), and be able to execute with no oversight. You will be expected to effectively lead and motivate teams with diverse skills and backgrounds, provide constructive on-the-job coaching and feedback to team members, and foster an innovative and inclusive team-oriented work environment.

You will be an active member in providing counselling and mentoring to junior consultants within the organization. Additionally, as a Senior Manager, you will be responsible for business development, leading internal initiatives, people development, and generating new client opportunities in order to further the growth of our brand, our business, and our people.

To qualify for the role, you must have:

  • Bachelor’s degree in finance, economics, accounting, engineering or a related discipline; an MBA or Master’s is a plus

  • 10+ years of related work experience in financial services (e.g., Consulting, Program/Project Management, Banking (Client Front Office, Underwriting, Portfolio Management, Credit Analysis, etc.), ratings agency, regulatory organization) or a graduate degree and approximately 8+ years of related work experience

  • Strong written and verbal communication, presentation, client service, and problem-solving skills

  • Strong executive presentation skills, with the ability to influence peers and senior management

  • Experience in Credit Risk Management practices, processes, and products

  • Ability to travel – you will likely spend a significant amount of time on-site with our clients. This travel can be as much as 80% to 100% of a work week at times

  • A willingness to operate under a hybrid work environment (typically 40 to 60% of the week in an EY office with your team when not on-site with a client)

Ideally, you’ll also have experience in:

  • Consulting experience with a Big 4 firm or large global financial institution

  • Strong understanding of the credit lifecycle (e.g., sales/origination, underwriting, fulfillment, servicing, loan accounting, monitoring, and default)

  • Experience autonomously leading programs or projects end-to-end

  • Experience building and leading cross-functional, multi-disciplinary teams

  • Experience driving business development efforts while executing project delivery on-time and within budget

  • Experience leading current state and future state assessment, gap analysis, process assessment, reengineering and operational implementation experience 

  • Strong understanding of regulations or supervisory guidelines impacting Credit Risk Management functions (e.g., OCC Heightened Standards)

  • Foundational knowledge of Counterparty Credit Risk products (e.g., derivatives, repurchase agreements, securities lending, and prime brokerage/margin loans) and concepts (e.g., potential future exposure (PFE), settlement risk, wrong way risk (WWR), risk factor sensitivities, counterparty stress testing and capital)

What we offer

We offer a comprehensive compensation and benefits package where you’ll be rewarded based on your performance and recognized for the value you bring to the business. The salary range for this job in most geographic locations in the US is $141,200 to $322,700. The salary range for New York City Metro Area, Washington State and California (excluding Sacramento) is $169,400 to $366,800. Individual salaries within those ranges are determined through a wide variety of factors including but not limited to education, experience, knowledge, skills and geography. In addition, our Total Rewards package includes medical and dental coverage, pension and 401(k) plans, and a wide range of paid time off options. Under our flexible vacation policy, you’ll decide how much vacation time you need based on your own personal circumstances. You’ll also be granted time off for designated EY Paid Holidays, Winter/Summer breaks, Personal/Family Care, and other leaves of absence when needed to support your physical, financial, and emotional well-being.
