What We Do:
The Supervision Group of the Federal Reserve Bank of New York (FRBNY) supervises banks in the Second District. The objectives of supervision are to:
Evaluate and promote the overall safety and soundness of supervised institutions
Ensure supervised institutions’ compliance with relevant laws and regulations, including consumer protection
Facilitate the stability of the financial system of the United States
Support the growth and stability of the U.S. economy
Supervision is carried out through a combination of methods, including on-site and off-site examinations involving staff dedicated to the supervision of individual firms, and other professionals focused on analytical, policy and risk matters. Supervision is coordinated with other US agencies.
The Large and Foreign Banking Organization (LFBO) Function is responsible for monitoring and assessing the safety and soundness of three large domestic and all foreign-owned firms with U.S. Operations (FBOs) in the Second District. The Less Complex Foreign Banking (LCFBO) unit within LFBO is responsible for monitoring and assessing the safety and soundness of Foreign Banking Organizations with total assets of $50 billion or less.
Your role as an Institutional Supervision Program Manager:
You will work in a dynamic team environment and play an important role in helping the Federal Reserve carry out its regulatory responsibilities. The Institutional Supervision Program Manager in LCFBO will manage a team of Examiners who are responsible for evaluating and promoting the overall safety and soundness for a diverse portfolio of FBOs spanning over 40 countries. Activities include leading a team responsible for examining and monitoring a portfolio of firms for business strategies and associated risks, financial condition, and compliance with laws and regulations. You will also be reviewing and acting on regulatory applications filed by supervised firms and coordinating supervisory activities with other federal and state authorities.
Core responsibilities include:
Advancing a high standard of supervisory communication and operational excellence in executing the supervisory program through the analysis and synthesis of complex topics and issues, awareness of trends, new products, and current and prospective regulatory changes.
Identifying material risk exposures and allocating resources to examinations, monitoring activities, and various analyses and projects.
Maintaining a thorough knowledge of System and local LCFBO supervisory processes, procedures, systems, and standards including staying abreast of supervisory developments impacting the portfolio.
Managing, developing, and serving as mentor to a team of experienced professionals by actively leading professional development, providing guidance, and managing performance of LCFBO staff.
Maintaining robust relationships with internal and external stakeholders and communicating messages to FRS management and the firms' senior management and board of directors.

Demonstrated experience managing and developing staff.
Track record of meaningful thought leadership, innovative approaches, well-grounded decision making, and strong execution.
Strong supervisory judgement and demonstrated ability to develop clear and well supported supervisory messages.
Solid understanding of the financial system, including legal and organization structures, reporting requirements, and operating procedures.

Salary Range: $192300 - $229300 / year
