Tax Services Senior Manager – Tax Technology and Transformation Services

Location: HOBOKEN, JERICHO, SECAUCUS, NYC, PHILADELPHIA, ALPHARETTA

The Opportunity

Our tax technology and transformation services practice will give you the opportunity to further develop your tax technology skills while assisting our clients in dealing with the operational challenges that their world class tax functions are facing today. With a specific focus on our tax managed services clientele, we offer a broad array of services, including tax accounting and compliance process improvement, global finance and tax data management, automation of complex master data management, and opportunities to design client specific technologies to enable tax processes. You will be working with clients to improve the operational effectiveness and efficiency of their tax functions and assists them to better connect with executive management.

Your Key Responsibilities

Depending on the needs of our clients and your work experience, there are many different types of projects you could be working on: managing tax transformation initiatives and identifying and managing interdependences; identifying improvements to operational effectiveness in tax functions; reviewing tax process, technology and controls; evaluating effectiveness of the various technology systems our tax clients use to transform tax processes through automation and data quality; designing and monitoring a proper control environment; and designing and building custom tax applications. As a senior manager, you would be working with leadership to run these exciting and impactful projects. 

Specific responsibilities include overseeing the design of technology ecosystems; applying standard processes and designing client specific processes and technologies; and leading multiple teams of resources including project management teams, software development teams, tax business personnel, and vendor application specialists.

  • Strong leadership ability, attention to detail, problem-solving skills, analytical abilities

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

  • Reviewing and challenging technical and business requirements, including Identifying and prioritizing issues

  • Overseeing design of user acceptance testing plans and reviewing results to ensure accuracy

  • Collaborating with SOX control resources to ensure process and technology enablement properly support necessary evidentiary elements

To qualify for the role you must have:

  • A bachelor's degree in tax, technology, data or related functions and approximately 12 years of relevant work experience

  • Tax and Global Data Management Technology Implementation experience required; Technology Development experience preferred

Ideally, you'll also have:

  • Knowledge in implementing tax technology solutions (e.g., CorpTax, ONESOURCE, Sabrix, Vertex, SharePoint, PFI, RPA software)

  • Embedding tax requirements into financial/business systems and processes (e.g., Oracle, SAP, Hyperion, PAM, Investran)

  • Developing and implementing custom applications (e.g., Visual Studio, VBA/VSTO, SQL Server, MS PowerBI Suite)
