Full Time Tax Consultant - International Tax Value-Added Tax

Work you'll do

As a tax consultant, you will work directly with clients, building a relationship as a trusted tax specialist and advisor - the "go-to" tax professional. You will collaborate daily as part of high-performing teams, developing solutions to complex tax issues through research, use of cutting edge technology, and consultation with other team members. Daily tasks may include researching tax regulations, understanding the applicable tax implications for specific clients and making recommendations based on your findings. You will commonly work with multiple clients at the same time, providing you exposure to a variety of organizations and a stronger understanding of applicable tax implications for different clients.

The team

Our Global VAT Services practice assists multinational companies with a wide array of indirect taxes including value-added tax (VAT), goods & services tax (GST), consumption tax, and many other transaction-based taxes. The practice concentrates its efforts on providing state-of-the art indirect tax advice to its clients, helping these businesses effectively manage indirect taxes by providing tax technical support, guidance on compliance and reporting requirements and process improvements, and assistance with leveraging technology solutions. We are a multicultural team from around the world with diverse backgrounds in tax, law, economics, business, and more. Qualifications

Required

• Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, economics or other business-related field or pursuing JD Degree

• Ability to prioritize tasks, work on multiple assignments, and manage assignments in a team environment

• CPA eligible upon graduation if an accounting major

• Ability to travel up to 50%, on average, based on the work you do and the clients and industries/sectors you serve

• The start date for this position will be in Summer/Fall 2023 or Winter 2024

Preferred

• Technology-related coursework highly desirable

• If pursing a JD degree, an undergraduate degree in accounting, taxation or a related field

• Strong academic track record (minimum GPA of 3.2)

• Relevant work experience (e.g. internships, summer positions, school jobs

This compensation range is specific to New York City and California and takes into account the wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including but not limited to skill sets; experience and training; licensure and certifications; and other business and organizational needs. At Deloitte, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for their role and compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. A reasonable estimate of the current range is $57,600 to $99,600.
