Citigroup GCB Regulatory Risk Officer in New York, New York
Reporting to the Head of GCB Regulatory Engagement, the GCB Regulatory Risk Officer is a seasoned professional role. Applies in-depth disciplinary knowledge, contributing to the development of new techniques and the improvement of processes and work-flow for the area or function. Integrates subject matter and industry expertise within a defined area. Requires in-depth understanding of how areas collectively integrate within the sub-function as well as coordinate and contribute to the objectives of the function and overall business. Evaluates moderately complex and variable issues with substantial potential impact, where development of an approach/taking of an action involves weighing various alternatives and balancing potentially conflicting situations using multiple sources of information. Requires good analytical skills in order to filter, prioritize and validate potentially complex and dynamic material from multiple sources. Strong communication and diplomacy skills are required. Regularly assumes informal/formal leadership role within teams. Involved in coaching and training of new recruits. Work and performance of all teams in the area are directly affected by the performance of the individual.
Preparing internal reporting and ensuring tracking of regulatory exams and regulatory interactions (and associated requests) on a timely basis along with performing quality assurance testing.
Developing, enhancing, and promoting the use of globally consistent communication tools/templates/presentations.
Participating in the coordination and execution of regulatory exams and regulatory interactions; including franchise relevant regulatory reviews and requests and other supervisory activity impacting GCB businesses and control functions.
Liaising with the supervisory agency teams, including responding to ad hoc requests / inquiries and hosting meetings with senior managers held in connection with ongoing supervision efforts.
Analyzing, digesting and summarizing information/documentation responsive to regulatory requests.
Partnering with regional Regulatory Engagement teams, ICRM, Risk, Legal, Operations, and Technology to identify, gather and produce responsive documents and information.
Identifying and escalating issues raised in the course of regulatory exams, regulatory interactions and supervisory activity and promoting awareness of trends identified and drive common messaging across our organization and geographies.
Participating in UAT testing and working groups on behalf of the GCB Regulatory Engagement team to enhance the firm’s current regulatory tracking processes, standards and systems.
Additional duties as assigned.
6-10 years’ experience in risk management framework or audit/regulatory engagement
Experience with or previous exposure to internal control functions and regulators within the region, and in particular banking regulators
Must be a self-starter, flexible, innovative and adaptive
Effective interpersonal skills with the ability to work collaboratively and with people at all levels of the organization
Consistently demonstrates clear and concise written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to both work collaboratively and independently; ability to navigate a complex organization
Advanced analytical skills
Ability to both work independently and collaborate with team members
Excellent project management and organizational skills and capability to handle multiple projects at one time
Proficient in MS Office applications (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
Demonstrated knowledge in area of focus
Experience working in the Consumer business organization preferred
- Bachelor’s degree; experience in compliance, legal or other control-related function in the financial services firm, regulatory organization, or legal/consulting firm, or a combination thereof; extensive experience in area of focus
