Are you interesting in joining our Global Accounts Life Sciences team in a role aimed at delivering our customers the Research and Development (R&D) solutions they need? Amazon Web Services (AWS) is a dynamic and rapidly growing business within Amazon and the leader in providing secure, reliable, scalable, and innovative cloud services that help over a million businesses across the globe scale and grow. We are expanding in a number of areas and our Global Accounts Life Sciences organization is looking for a seasoned account manager with experience selling digital R&D solutions for large global customers.

You will be responsible for building relationships with senior leaders in both the IT and business leadership for R&D, e.g., SVP of Early Research, VP of Clinical Development, VP of R&D IT. Your aim is to progress our customer's maturity within R&D by selling in AWS-led solutions and to co-sell with AWS Partners. Your accounts will be among our top Life Science customers and/or strong upstarts. Your goal will be to meet and exceed pipeline and revenue quota through pre-sales activities. You will also collaborate with AWS Life Science business development professionals with deep expertise in Life Science R&D.

Successful candidates will possess a commercial, technical and Life Sciences R&D background across at least 2-3 sub-domain areas (listed below). This background will enable you to successfully build and maintain relationships, lead / support sales pursuits to advise our customers on AWS cloud solutions, grow AWS usage, develop innovative programs, and expand platform adoption to new business units.

Life Science R&D sub-domain areas of expertise include (need to exhibit experience in at least 2 domain areas):

\* Multiomics: sequencing, multi-omic piplines, storage, analysis
\* Drug Design: target identification/validation, hit series, lead optimization
\* Laboratory: Smart/connected lab, quality control, assays, LIMS Systems
\* Clinical Trials: virtual trials, study design, site identification, CTMS, eTMF
Responsibilities:
\* Driving presales activities for Life Sciences with reusable content that influences activities across all accounts
\* Collaborate in the development and execution of Life Science account strategies with respect to R&D
\* Maintain a robust pre-sales pipeline within target accounts and track in Salesforce.com
\* Act as pre-sales leader within the Life Sciences vertical for R&D domain areas
\* Create a high level network for events and follow up, working closely with closed loop marketing
\* Break into new lines of business groups within the defined Life Science vertical accounts
\* Work in a team environment with multiple Global Account Managers, Solution Architects, Business Development Team
\* Support account team by being first point of contact for Life Science accounts to qualify R&D opportunities
\* Work with the Business Development Team to develop new offerings, collaborating with AWS professional services, services teams, partners, and Amazon product teams
\* Identifying and scoping digital R&D solutions with measurable business results for our customers
\* Supporting executive workshops with global R&D leaders

\* Minimum of 8 years of business development or account management experience in selling or delivering R&D consulting services to the Life Sciences industry
\* 5+ Years in selling and/or advising customers in areas R&D (from early science to regulatory submission) or other related fields
\* 4+ years' experience in owning or creating the R&D vision with customers in Life Science as part of pre-sales pursuits
\* 7+ years of experience in client related interactions (presentations, building relationships, structuring and providing program oversight, working with partners, statement of works/commercials exposure)
\* Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering, Mathematics, Chemistry, Biology, Biochemistry, Bioinformatics, Pharmacology or related field of study

\* Knowledge of the Life Sciences value chain (R&D, Manufacturing, Commercial, etc.) and the application of technology in each stage of the value chain.
\* Master's degree preferred; technical background with Computer Science, and/or Engineering/Math and/or Business Administration background is highly desired
\* Working knowledge of software development practices and data center / infrastructure / networking technologies highly desired.
\* AWS Cloud Certifications
\* Strong leadership skills are key, with proven verbal and written communications skills and demonstrated ability to work effectively across internal, external and matrixed organizations
\* Client experience and the ability to have peer-to-peer engagements with CxOs is preferred
