Provide leadership, strategy, and direction for AXIS towards evolving InsurTech landscape through engagement with the InsurTech ecosystem, building relationships with and connecting AXIS stakeholders to InsurTech firms, and supporting the implementation of new digital and technology capabilities.
Organize, coordinate, and lead InsurTech engagement strategy
Develop and manage external networks with key industry participants and firms that fit with AXIS strategic themes
Due diligence of potential partners
Work with cross functional team and partners for implementing POCs and smooth transition to new technologies
Identify threats and opportunities brought about by evolving technology
Evaluating and prioritizing budget spend and resource commitments
Engage business leaders to develop broad understanding of AXIS capital strategy in both business segments and functions
Engage InsurTech Council and business leaders on key findings and emerging threats and opportunities
Business leaders on strategies, trends, market intelligence, and evaluation of InsurTech opportunities
Corporate development for support with structuring and negotiating
Commitment to participate in events and conferences
Number of conferences, events in which AXIS participates
Number of meetings with InsurTech firms that fit strategic and business alignment
Number of POCs with InsurTech partners
Number of successful implementations of new digital and technology capabilities through InsurTech partnerships
Number of successful strategic investments that accelerate, or provide significant value add capabilities
Interface and engagement with InsurTech ecosystem
Negotiation and management of partnerships
Maintenance of partnership relationship management tool
Influence prioritization and selection of InsurTech partnerships
Key Knowledge, Skills, Abilities (KSA’s):
Strong communication, networking, relationship management and marketing skills
Proven ability to generate successful partnerships, from sourcing, review and negotiate documentation, successful management of relationship
Curious and open minded for disruptive technology trends
Visionary and strategic with regards for impact of technology on the future of the Insurance Industry
Other Preferred Qualifications/Experience:
10+ years of insurance industry experience, private equity / venture capital investment experience and/or relative military experience
Deep understanding of insurance processes and distribution
