The Role…

In this influential role, you will help create, accelerate, and deliver the Diversity, Learning, and Inclusion initiatives of the Soho House Americas region, focusing on the work to create an inclusive culture where our workforce represents the diverse community that we serve, and that the services we provide. By drawing on your experience of equality, diversity and inclusion legislation, knowledge of best practice, as well as track record in delivering large scale improvement programmes, you will be instrumental in making sure that we live up to our ambitions, both internally and publicly.

The role requires an innovative blended learning approach to all training and development for the Americas, addressing all functions including our head office support function, site level, and food & beverage roles. You will be a key point of contact with teams across the global business, partnering to educate, advise, guide and champion behaviours that support diversity, learning, and inclusion.

The Head of will also take a global strategic lead working with key stakeholders to implement and develop the Learning function. The Head of will staff and manage a West Coast Diversity, Learning, and Inclusion Manager, and report into the Director of Diversity, Learning, and Inclusion based in the United Kingdom.

Main Duties…

  • Responsible for creating, driving forward, developing and embedding inclusion, diversity, learning and culture improvements across the business, working collaboratively with the Americas’ people function to support the delivery of this multi-faceted agenda.

  • Create, enhance, deliver, and coordinate a blended learning approach to all aspects of the employee lifecycle including induction/onboarding, a competitive service standards curriculum, robust food and beverage courses, and training for all levels of management. Diversity & inclusion will be embedded into all trainings you will develop and create.

  • Delivery training plan and implementation for House openings including the back to office and site initiatives post the COVID pandemic.

  • Take a systemic view of inclusion, wellbeing and culture to ensure change and improvement is embedded across all levels and functions.

  • Monitor and track training metrics for the Americas region, creating action plans for any areas or functions of underrepresentation. This will lead to a strong partnership with the recruitment team of the Americas to ensure we have a robust candidate pool for each manager and above role

  • Help lead the implementation of an innovative Learning Management System for easier delivery of mass content.

  • Partner with the global Director of Diversity, Learning, and Inclusion to design, develop and implement organisation-wide inclusion, wellbeing and culture strategies with consistent core elements that drive towards delivering the overarching shift required, yet are tailored and impactful for different business areas and audiences across the organisation

  • Work closely with the communications team to develop a communication framework, taking the lead on drafting and preparing copy to raise awareness of the company’s diversity and inclusion strategies.

  • Influence, educate and manage key stakeholders including the C-suite, Directors, the Executive Team and senior leadership teams across the business.

  • Work with the People Analytics team to create reports and presentations reflecting the wellbeing of the organisation and capability to achieve its purpose and organisational goals.

  • Design and lead the Soho Academy, an internal learning & development platform that will teach and promote internal learning culminating in a recognized qualification.

  • Partner with the all People leaders within the Americas to create and brand a talent lab centre for Soho Academy to focus on company-wide training initiative

  • Manage budget related to diversity and learning training and events


  • Must have a minimum of 7 years of progressive experience in diversity, inclusion, and/or diversity and inclusion learning programs, with a proven track record of delivering on diversity and inclusion workstreams

  • Strong people leadership and the vision to create and sustain a culture of accountability, ownership and delivery within the team.

  • Ability to engage, inspire and motivate others, actively encourage them to be innovative and proactive and empower them to make decisions and take responsibility for those decisions.

  • Comfortable with data and curious about People Analytics. Proven ability to communicate insight to HR and business area colleagues and influence the ability to think laterally and strategically.

  • Excellent oral and written communication, interpersonal, facilitation and presentation skills. Ability to influence confidently across the depth and breadth of executive and senior leadership.
