Head of Programming, Senior Director, GQ, Condé Nast Entertainment

The Company
Condé Nast Entertainment (CNE) is an award-winning next generation studio and distribution network with entertainment content across film, television, premium digital video, social, virtual reality and OTT channels. In addition, the Studio produces and distributes over 4,000 pieces of original digital video content a year averaging over 1 billion views a month. CNE has an extensive digital distribution network of nearly 60 partners across about 2,300 websites.

The Role
Condé Nast Entertainment (CNE), the video and audio division of Condé Nast, is looking for a seasoned programmer to oversee its award-winning digital video programming for GQ and GQ Sports. The desired skills include proven track record in digital (YouTube, Facebook, Instagram, OTT, etc..) video creation in non-fiction, fiction, documentary and other entertainment programming, as well as demonstrated ability to create video content that generates multiple revenue streams. The Senior Director, Programming will ensure that all final, edited product is delivered on time and to the highest standards.

The position is a part of Conde Nast Entertainment at 1 World Trade Center, and will report to CNE's VP, Programming. Coordinating between CNE and various of its editorial partners is a primary responsibility.The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of creating and executing series in a variety of genres of relevance to CNE's audiences-as well as a strong understanding of what kinds of content will be engaging to large and diverse audiences. Expectations for editorial quality, audience growth and monetization are extremely high.

Primary Responsibilities:

Devise and execute a business strategy to leverage video content to drive multiple revenue streams

Lead, shape and implement the programming vision for CNE's multi-faceted video slate for GQ and GQ Sports, using data and other methods for evaluating video content

Serve as a primary video liaison between creative, editorial and business affairs

Build a positive, success-oriented environment and serve as a leader that promotes creativity, innovation and furthers CNE's best in class premium video reputation

Grow successful video brands and programming in new and innovative directions

Represent CNE in internal and external facing affairs as they relate to video

Coordinate with Development and Production teams to ensure maximum quality of content is achieved and maintained

In coordination with the Development team, review, edit, and approve preliminary and final treatments, outlines, shooting scripts, casting, production schedules, budgets, selects, graphics, music, rough cuts, fine cuts, final narration and final versions of all applicable new programming.

Conduct regular checks on current shows and make recommendations on representation, inclusion and creative direction

Make sure the pipeline of new content is well maintained, and that archival content is effectively resurfaced

Coordinate with the Sales and Marketing teams to package editorial content to maximize revenue opportunities

Desired Skills and Qualifications:

A minimum of 10+ years experience producing and developing video content on various platforms including, digital, linear, etc...

Proven experience managing a team of creative producers and juggling multiple-projects at once

Demonstrated experience in building a culture of trust and inclusion

Excellent track record growing audience, overseeing creative execution, developing brand appropriate programming while achieving sustained digital and critical success

Demonstrated ability to generate multiple revenue streams driven from content

Creative and strategic executive who is genuinely collaborative and ready to lead

Strong creative with tactical skills; expert level knowledge around multi-platform distribution and deep knowledge of all stages of the production and distribution process

Demonstrated success producing content for diverse communities

Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to write outstanding proposals

Demonstrated aptitude to work closely with external producers to represent the channel needs

Ability to partner and manage Brand team and Brand needs
