Morgan, Lewis & Bockius LLP, one of the world's leading global law firms with more than 4,000 lawyers and staff in 31 offices is seeking an HRIS Business Analyst, reporting to the HR Systems & Analytics Manager. Although currently remote, this position can be local to any Morgan Lewis office in the US, working with a team resident in Philadelphia, PA. The HRIS Business Analyst will be responsible for maintaining and optimizing Workday for Morgan Lewis.

As an established Workday customer, we are continuously enhancing existing functionality, adding new modules, and assisting our end users in order for the firm to maximize Workday's capabilities. Our current Workday modules include HCM, Recruiting, Talent & Performance, Advanced Compensation, Time Tracking, and Absence.

This position will play a lead role in the implementation and support of additional modules and enhancements to current modules. This position will work in a highly collaborative environment with internal teams to gather and validate business requirements and recommend solutions. This position plans, coordinates and manages the firm's human resource information system to ensure end user productivity and efficiency.

Responsibilities include:
Business Needs Support/Process Re-engineering:
Consults with HR teams and firm stakeholders to evaluate needs and provide technology solutions
Analyzes the business needs of departments and recommends appropriate applications or enhancements to existing functional areas to support those needs
Troubleshoots and resolves production support issues and resolves defects timely and with exceptional customer service.
Provides support for Workday for the firm including researching, identifying, and resolving Workday issues, unexpected results and process flaws. Proactively seeks feedback from appropriate parties on suggested solutions
Recommends best practices to ensure optimal use of Workday based on knowledge of firm processes and technology
Conducts process design and gap analysis, functional system design with formal documentation and system configuration

System Analysis/Management:
Assists all HR departments with the process flows, data analysis, configuration and Enterprise Interface Builders (EIBs) loads associated with annual and off cycle events such as performance evaluations, merit increases, bonus payments and job structure enhancements
Evaluates system functionality versus business needs; recommends and implements application solutions or alternate methods to meet business requirements
Collaborates with Information Technology to develop and implement new or enhanced technology (e.g., interfaces, outsourced vendor arrangements, system integrations) and manages service and support
Prepares test plans and scripts; executes test scripts; assists with overseeing and supporting user acceptance testing
Develops user procedures, guidelines and documentations
Assists with software implementation and upgrades as necessary

System Support:
Provides level 2 support for all HR system modules (HCM, Time Tracking, Absence, Compensation, Recruiting, and Talent & Performance) including, but not limited to, researching and resolving complex Workday issues, unexpected results and process flaws
Coordinates with firm IT to resolve application issues
Actively participates in user acceptance testing and documentation
Assists end-users and internal teams on Workday related issues

Excellent interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills are essential

Ability to critically think and have an analytical mindset with a strong ability to identify, troubleshoot, and resolve system issues
Ability to manage multiple, high priority tasks and adjust to shifting priorities, while meeting deadlines
Must be self-motivated and able to work independently as well as on a team
Demonstrated ability to quickly adapt and learn new systems and processes through instruction and self-training
Customer service oriented with a demonstrated desire to exceed expectations and deliver an excellent experience

Education and Experience:
Bachelor's degree from four-year college or university
Minimum 3 years of directly related HRIS and Workday experience. Equivalent combinations of education and experience will be considered
Experience specifically in Workday. Preferred functional area experience includes Advanced Compensation, Recruiting, Onboarding, Talent & Performance, Time Tracking, and Absence.
