Job Summary:

Carnegie Corporation of New York (“the Corporation”) has an exciting opportunity to join its Human Resources Department in a newly created position to support the evolving needs the organization and its staff. Reporting to the Human Resources Director, and working closely with the Chief Human Resources Officer, the ideal candidate for this position is someone who loves to work with people, is proactive, discreet, highly motivated, flexible, and service-oriented.

Responsibilities:

  • Recruiting: Screen applicants, schedule interviews, maintain recruiting dashboards for all open positions, create and analyze recruiting reports, conduct reference and background checks, process I-9 information.

  • Onboarding: Create new employee profiles (ADP WorkforceNow) and files, send out onboarding packages, and update and maintain new employee reference materials. Conduct orientations for new staff.

  • Employee Engagement Ambassador: Act as the point of contact for employee engagement activities (both onsite and externally), including organizing and executing annual staff events such as holiday parties, wellness fair and other wellness activities, brown bag lunch and learn program, summer outings, sports leagues, etc. Balance the wellness budget, lead the “Employee Social Committee,” network regularly with staff to understand their needs, concerns, and ideas for improvement, conduct Corporation staff pulse survey.,

  • Training and Development : Plan, organize, and schedule training for new hires and existing staff including scheduling trainings with external vendors. Work with the Human Resources Director to create customized professional development program offerings for staff, and track and record staff professional development requests and milestones.

  • Administration: Track and maintain updated job descriptions, performance management documents, compliance documents, HR forms, and employee information. Prepare employment verification letters as needed.

  • Miscellaneous: Additional duties as requested by CHRO and Director of Human Resources

    Qualifications:

  • Excellent sense of discretion, tact, professionalism, and sensitivity

  • Good judgment and problem-solving skills.

  • Gregarious and friendly disposition; someone who likes working with all people, has great sense of humor, and likes to bring fun to work.

  • Strong interpersonal skills, cultural awareness, with a service-oriented approach

  • Ability to work across teams and with management.

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.

  • Flexible and able to work under pressure.

  • Extremely Organized.

  • Minimum of four years of relevant experience with at least two years of recruiting experience.

  • Experience using ADP WorkforceNow, JazzHR applicant tracking systems helpful.
