Morgan Lewis & Bockius LLP Information Technology Business Analyst in New York, New York

Morgan, Lewis & Bockius LLP, one of the world's leading global law firms with offices in strategic hubs of commerce, law, and government across North America, Asia, Europe, and the Middle East, is seeking to hire an Information Technology Business Systems Analyst.

Reporting to the Manager of IT Products, the IT Business Systems Analyst will be an experienced professional with in-depth knowledge of enterprise business processes and systems analysis techniques, as well as data mapping and analytics. The ideal candidate will be highly analytical as they examine business and technology processes and procedures. Through technically rigorous, strategically sound business analysis, the BSA will ensure that a positive user experience and detailed functional requirements are accounted for in the enhancement/upgrade/replacement of existing products. They will also contribute to the success of new products and functionality through the development of requirements, supporting business processes, demonstrations, and training scenarios.

This position can reside in most US offices and offers a hybrid in-office/remote working schedule. Regular working hours are 8:30 am - 5:00 pm, Monday through Friday.

Key responsibilities include:

Working with stakeholders and developers to understand business needs and understand technical implications of those requirements

Reconciling all perspectives into a cohesive, prioritized, and detailed workflows

Collaborating with development and database architects to create proposals for business process improvements via programmatic solutions

Creating and analyzing varied documentation including but not limited to user stories, product backlogs, requirements traceability matrices, release notes, training scenarios and test cases

Defining interaction of data with other systems/databases with data management team while suggesting process improvements

Identifying key finance metrics, key performance indicators and other relevant financial processes geared towards reporting

Recommending solutions for improving and restructuring business and technology procedures.

Establishing specifications for new products by developing goals, phases, and timelines

Experience and qualifications:

Experience identifying key finance metrics, key performance indicators and other relevant financial processes geared towards reporting

Experience gathering user requirements from disparate sources for integration

Experience with legal finance systems such as Intapp, Elite Enterprise, 3E a plus

Intermediate understanding of conceptual, logical, and physical data modeling for relational databases

Experience in systems migrations including, but not limited to, Finance, Marketing, and HR

Experience with reporting systems such as PowerAutomate/PowerBI, Qlik or Tableau, Azure Services, DevOps, MS PowerApps, preferred

Experience with Jira, Confluence, Tempo, Microsoft (Online) Products including SharePoint required

This is a position in the Information Technology department, but experience with legal financial systems, accounts receivable and billing processes a plus

A minimum of 3 Years of business or systems analysis experience

Bachelor's degree (B.A.) from a four-year college or university and minimum of four (4) years professional working experience as a business analyst; or equivalent combination of education and experience
