The Corporate Financial Reporting/Accounting internships are located at our headquarters in New York City. The qualified candidates will be able to work in New York throughout the upcoming school year (September 2022 onward).
As a Financial Reporting/Accounting intern, you will be exposed to meaningful project work and will receive significant exposure to Senior Management and our overall business.
If you are interested in the international dimension of accounting and international business in general, the Corporate Financial Reporting/Accounting group offers great challenges and a tremendous opportunity for personal as well as professional development.
Responsibilities may include but are not limited to the following:
Preparation and analysis of a wide variety of financial and other reports including quarterly SEC filings, the annual report and the proxy statement.
Retirement Plan Financials (11K) preparation
Retiree Medical, VEBA and ERIP Financials
XBRL Tagging and Review
Internal controls and SOX compliance
Support Employee Benefit Accounting
Support on Goodwill Impairment Assessment
Support New technical accounting initiatives and implementations
Preparation of reports and analysis designed to communicate selected financial data to Senior Management
Maintenance and communication of current accounting policies to finance personnel around the Colgate world.
Research on a variety of technical accounting and business issues.
Various special projects as requested
Qualifications:
Currently enrolled as a senior undergraduate or first year Masters student in Accounting
1-3 years of prior work experience (preferred)
Candidate must have a distinguished academic achievement (GPA of 3.0 or higher)
Strong oral and written communications skills
Strong analytical ability
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel & Google Sheets required. Advanced excel skills a plus.
Meticulousness with numbers and accuracy
Ability to work effectively in teams
Ability to work full time over the summer and 15-20 hours per week during the school year
Hourly Rate Range: $20 - $37 per hour USD
Pay is based on several non-discriminatory factors including but not limited to experience, education, skills and office location.
