WSP is currently initiating a search for Summer Interns at the Hudson Valley Transportation Management Center (TMC) in Hawthorne, New York, NY. The function of the Hudson Valley TMC is to improve the operation of the highway system through teamwork and technology, thereby improving the mobility of travelers and goods in the Hudson Valley.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Assist in the development, implementation and maintenance of a range of transportation technology projects,
Contribute to a range IT network setup, security and administration tasks,
Gain valuable experience in a range areas including, but not limited to programming, communications systems (Radio and Cellular) and fiber optic, database development and maintenance, and electrical systems.
Assist technical staff in preparing design documentation
Ability to work full time
Prepare AutoCAD/ Microstation drawings
Assist engineers with design calculations and ITS Electrical systems
Assist technical staff with ITS field survey/investigations and construction site visits
The candidate will participate in a team work project environment and flexible enough to work independently where needed.
Assist in the development of technical operation maintenance guide Procedures
Support HVTMC Engineers to complete tasks required to support the maintenance and troubleshooting
Testing, evaluation, and improvement of various ITS products, components, tools and equipment under the technical guidance of senior level engineers.

Job Requirements
Minimum Qualifications:
Must have completed at least 12 hours of college credit and currently be enrolled in one of the following degree programs:
Civil Engineering
Transportation Engineering
Transportation Engineering and Planning
Electrical Engineering
Industrial Engineering
Cyber Security Engineering
Engineering Science
Information Technology
Computer Science
Computer Engineering
Systems Engineering
Strong organizational skills
Solid written and oral communications skills are required
Must possess a valid drivers license
Exercise responsible and ethical decision-making regarding company funds, resources and conduct and adhere to WSP’s Code of Conduct and related policies and procedures
Proven track record of upholding workplace safety and ability to abide by WSP’s health, safety and drug/alcohol and harassment policies
