What You Will Do :
The Guidehouse Internship Program staffs interns on real world projects, showcases the Guidehouse culture, and provides interns with a meaningful consulting experience. Interns work with teams and provide real-time deliverables in support of Guidehouse clients. Each intern is paired with a Buddy to serve as a resource that can assist them in navigating their Guidehouse experience.
Highlights of the Guidehouse Internship Program include:
10-week experience in the Summer of 2023 (Anticipated to start Monday, June 5th and run until Friday, August 11th)
Learning & Development Sessions (both E-learning & Instructor-Led)

As a Climate Risk and Resiliency expert within the Infrastructure Resilience & Energy System’s team, you will help to identify and build new, transformational offerings for our clients as they relate to climate change and resilience. Assignments may include defining climate scenarios and indicators, assessing physical and transitional risks and opportunities, quantifying the financial impacts of climate risks, and designing and implementing climate mitigation and resiliency programs.
In this role you will learn, be challenged, and develop skills at a fast pace. In addition to hands-on experience, formal training programs will teach you the diverse skills you need to succeed. You will contribute to complex projects and will learn about project management by managing smaller projects.
Interns may support project teams both at client sites and internally. Responsibilities will include client management, solution implementation and generation of project results. As a consultant, a key function of your role will be to create and present quality deliverables that support essential project workstreams. You will gather and analyze data, identify gaps and trends, and make recommendations related to baseline performance and structure, as well as established best practices and benchmarks. We are looking for someone with a passion. Key responsibilities for this position include:
Working directly with external climate science modeling partners to perform comprehensive climate risk and opportunity assessments.
Developing methodologies to assess the economic and financial impacts of climate change at a macroeconomic and microeconomic scale.
Preparing and presenting strategic climate analysis, reports, and other documents for internal and/or external client use.
Supporting clients in developing sustainability reporting (such as CDP, TCFD, ESG etc.) for climate-related financial disclosures.
Acting as a Climate Risk and Resiliency subject matter expert for client workshops, meetings, and interviews.
Providing Climate Risk and Resiliency subject matter expertise for sales and delivery efforts.
Expected to assist with client deliverables end-to-end, prioritize and allocate tasks, and work within team environments for multiple complex projects simultaneously.
Performing technical and economic analyses; data collection; spreadsheet creation and management
Communicating solutions and new strategies to clients through reports and presentations
What You Will Need :
Minimum Years of Experience: 0 years
Minimum Degree Status Required: Graduating with an undergraduate or advanced degree between Winter 2023 and Summer 2024

What Would Be Nice To Have :
Degree/Majors Preferred: Engineering (Industrial, Mechanical, Electrical, Environmental), Business, Economics, and/or related to Environment or Sustainability
Interest in climate change consulting for utilities
Familiarity with economic and financial analysis and research
Experience working in teams to produce high-impact work products, reports, and other deliverables in a fast-paced environment
Possesses strong oral and written communication skills
Heightened attention to detail
Excellent interpersonal skills with an interest in learning more about the legal and/or contracts administration field
The annual salary range for this position is $34,000.00-$61,200.00. Compensation decisions depend on a wide range of factors, including but not limited to skill sets, experience and training, security clearances, licensure and certifications, and other business and organizational needs.
