Job Title Intern, Investments Group - Sponsored by Shorenstein's Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Committee State, City, Zipcode New York, NY 10022 Job Type Part-time Date Posted 3/2/2023 Job Description Summary: Shorenstein's Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Committee is sponsoring interns in our San Francisco and New York corporate offices. The Investments Group at Shorenstein is seeking candidates for a Summer 2023 Paid Internship. The Investments Group is responsible for overseeing Capital Transactions, Asset Management, Development and Leasing functions and focuses on acquiring commercial real estate properties in addition to developing and executing business plans for those properties. The internship will be an eight-week program, four days a week (M-Th) for eight hours a day running from June 12th to August 3rd, 2023. The program will be based on-site at our corporate headquarters, and we currently have openings for two interns in the Financial District of San Francisco and two interns in the Midtown area of New York City. Interns will gain hands-on experience in the Commercial Real Estate industry through exposure to a wide range of projects, team members and departments including Investments, Development Services, Property Management and Construction, Leasing, Fund Management, Accounting and Human Resources. As part of this opportunity, interns will learn how to underwrite an office property using ARGUS Enterprise and Excel. Job Requirements Essential Duties & Responsibilities: Support various projects for the Investments Group. Perform market research to illustrate supply, demand and market trends. Conduct market and financial due diligence on various real estate opportunities. Assist in investment underwriting, transaction execution and deal memos. Participate in weekly meetings to discuss deal pipeline, asset updates, etc. Essential Skills & Qualifications: Demonstrated commitment to diversity, equity and inclusion (**personal impact statement required as part of the application process; see details below**). Current undergraduate students. Excellent analytical and communication (written and verbal) skills. Research skills. Comfortable in Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint. Ability to manage multiple responsibilities and meet deadlines with a high degree of quality and accuracy. Strong organizational skills, work ethic, team-approach and detail-orientation required.
