Responsibilities

Summary:

Responsible for supporting and overseeing risk & quality function and accounting for large-scale federal loan program following large-scale technology migration. Experience in government internal audit, enterprise risk management, government accounting, and federal financial services is preferred (commercial financial services experience will also be considered). Will serve as a leader on the Risk & Quality team. Will be responsible for leading efforts to get loan program audit ready in accordance with current federal regulations (e.g., OMB Circular A-123); work closely with operations team to assists with modernization and enhancement projects across the program; and acting as a liaison between technology and operations teams to prioritize and manage risks, control deficiencies and enhancements. Strong interpersonal communication skills and organizational skills required, as well as knowledge of financial loan origination and loan servicing. Experience with large-scale technology migrations and working closely with technical teams preferred. Strong accounting background, public accounting preferred.

Job Description/Responsibilities:

  • Work hand-in-hand with operations and technology teams to understand operational processes and technology requirements, assess inherent risks, and formulate appropriate response to those risks.

  • Assist directors to develop and asses a wholistic governance framework for the loan program.

  • Lead audit readiness efforts by designing a risk and controls testing plan for each year of operations. This will entail among others assessing control environment, risk management, and testing design and operating effectiveness of controls.

  • Oversee a team of 2-3 associates / senior associates, review their work, and communicate closely with director.

  • Program manage the risk and controls efforts across the program.

  • Distinguish between deficiencies and enhancements and develop Corrective Action Plans as necessary.

  • Provide key inputs to internal Guidehouse leadership for operational reporting to government client. Reporting includes key operational performance metrics, audit related matters (findings, corrective actions, etc.), tracking of key risks, and updates on other ad-hoc projects.

  • Act as liaison between Guidehouse, external auditors, government stakeholders, and subcontractors for any internal/external audit requests and communications.

Qualifications

Required:

· At least 6 years of consulting/audit experience required

· Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or higher required

· Must be willing and able to work onsite at Guidehouse NYC office location

· Strong interpersonal communication and organizational skills required

· Knowledge of financial loan origination and loan servicing required

Due to our contractual requirements, to be eligible for this role, you must be fully COVID-19 vaccinated at time of hire

Preferred:

· Master’s Degree (e.g., MBA or MS in Accounting / Audit, Information Systems, or similar preferred)

· Project Management certification (e.g., PMP)

· Experience testing internal controls and governance frameworks

· Experience with enterprise risk management preferred

· Experience in federal financial services preferred

· Experience with large-scale technology migrations preferred

· Experience managing and working closely with technical teams preferred
