Role + Purpose:

J.Crew Group is looking for a dynamic Tech Lead who brings passion, experience and creativity to estimate, design and deliver digital features for our J.Crew Mobile App. This person will help deliver our first J.Crew mobile app and establish our internal Mobile App support team.

Responsibilities Include:

  • Collaborate among a cross-functional team comprised of Product Owner, Project Manager, Quality Engineers, DevOps Engineers and eCommerce Engineers

  • Write high quality code to deliver application features within deadlines

  • Review code written by teammates

  • Provide accurate level-of-effort estimates given business requirements

  • Monitor performance of existing features using logs and Application Performance Monitoring tools to identify opportunities for improvement

  • Triage application bugs (debug and delegate to appropriate engineers)

  • Understand and help facilitate our release process

  • Document features for business clients and technical colleagues

  • Encourage and inspire a culture of continuous improvement, creativity, collaboration and technical excellence

    Technical Qualifications:

  • 10+ years’ experience in the design, development of large-scale mobile applications of which minimum 4+ in iOS

  • Should have experience in identifying the challenges/gaps with current architecture, recommend solutions for optimized performance

  • Excellent knowledge and capability to use OS frameworks for multi-threading, data persistence and adaptive user interfaces

  • Experience with Agile development methodology (preferably Scrum), unit testing, CI/CD and tools (GIT, JIRA etc.)

  • A strong understanding of approaches and techniques to optimize performance and memory consumption

  • Highly proficient in collaborating with project stakeholders, end-users, business partners, and technical team members to deliver high quality project

  • Should have experience working with teams distributed across the globe and across time zones

  • Should be proficient with Swift, Objective C, iOS Frameworks, various architecture patterns, OOPs concepts, MVVM

  • Experience with iOS frameworks such as Core Data, Core Animation, Core Location, UI Kit

  • Familiarity with RESTful and Graphql APIs to connect iOS applications to back-end services

  • In depth understanding of Apple recommended design principles, interface guidelines and coding best practices

  • Experience in app development for retail domain is an added advantage

  • Experience working with Testing tools like Appium is good to have
