What We Do:

Enterprise Support (ES) in the Technology Group delivers technology services across the Bank and works with technology service providers within FRBNY, the Federal Reserve’s National IT and other external service providers to support the technical operations of internal business lines as well as The U.S Treasury’s Bureau of the Fiscal Service and Office of Debt Management.

The Treasury Automated Auctions Processing System (TAAPS) is the means by which primary dealers and other Depository Institutions purchase Treasury marketable securities (Bills, Notes and Bonds) at auction. In support of the Auction Process, the Treasury’s Office of Debt Management operates an analytical system called TDMS (Treasury Debt Management System) which is used to forecast US government expenses including existing debt obligations. The FRBNY Technology Group ES Discount Window and Supervision team provides technical support for both TAAPS and TDMS, as well as applications used by the Supervision Group in the Bank. The team in close partnership with the FRBNY Markets Treasury Auction (TA) staff to execute Treasury auctions while acting as fiscal agent to the U.S Treasury. The team also is an integral part of the Supervision Agile Squad. We are seeking a motivated IT Support Associate to support the operational and testing activities related to the Treasury and Supervision applications. The IT Support Associate will be expected to coordinate operational support activities, inclusive of their underlying infrastructure components, provide daily application support and monitoring, engage in Squad ceremonies, as well as the support and execute non-functional test cases.

This position will also be engaged in Cloud migration efforts for both Treasury and Supervision applications.

You will report to the Application Support Manager.

Your role as an IT Product Support Associate:

  • Represent TG ES Operations and attend all meetings inclusive of standups, Project Increment planning, Agile scrum ceremonies, architectural design discussions, etc.

  • Participate in knowledge transfer with current staff to learn the functionality of the TDMS application

  • Report back to direct manager and team leader on the status of the TDMS migration effort and escalate any obstacles

  • As part of post-mortem analysis, provide effective communication of the impact and root cause of the technical problem to the business.

  • Participate in incident management events by troubleshooting issues, participating in business impact assessment, escalating to second level support, and working toward resolution

  • Support SOX testing by providing and maintaining documentation and providing application walk-throughs when requested

  • Provide support to the external user community by providing dealer hotline support for password resets and other access issues

  • Support the product development life cycle (PDLC) for TAAPS, TDMS and Supervision applications by:

  • Participating in change review calls

  • Coordinate the deployment of application releases into the QA and Production environments

  • Performing non-functional tests to validate vendor product upgrades and patches

  • Perform post deployment testing to validate the application’s readiness for use

  • Coordinate with Product Owners, National IT and development staff to resolve issues discovered during non-functional testing

  • Participate in third-party system reviews (i.e. Section 508 compliance, Security Assessment & Accreditation reviews, etc.)

  • Maintain, enhance, and develop new documentation covering operational support procedures, troubleshooting guides, incident management plans and risk events

  • Some weekend work (inclusive of Friday night, Saturday and/or Sunday) as needed in support of contingency tests, infrastructure enhancements, and application changes

What we are looking for:

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science or information systems related discipline preferred, or equivalent work experience (5+/- years of experience)

  • Understanding and familiarity with the following technologies:'

  • SQL and Oracle RDBMS

  • WebSphere

  • TCP/IP networking

  • Business Intelligence software

  • UNIX shell scripting

  • Familiarity with Agile processes and frameworks, Dev/Ops support model, and principles of CI/CD (Continuous Integration Continuous Deployment)

  • Working knowledge of DevOps and delivery tools like Gitlab

  • Kubernetes (EKS) expertise

  • Solid understanding of Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS)

  • Knowledge of AWS IAM concepts and principles

  • Practical understanding of infrastructure technologies - compute, network, storage

  • Working knowledge of Docker containerization

  • Proven experience with AWS cloud Platforms, PaaS, SaaS experience.

  • Working knowledge and hands-on experience of VPC, AWS Transit VPC, Transit Gateway, Direct Connect methodologies.

  • Knowledge of IP networking, VPN's, DNS, load balancing and firewalling.

  • Demonstrate knowledge in AWS Cloud and Internet technologies, including TCP/IP, DNS, HTTP/HTTPS, Web architecture and design.

  • Nice to have practical knowledge of coding practices (such as python, Java, Scala)

  • AWS DevOps Certification Preferred

Salary Range: $116500 - $158000 / year
