Paramount Lead Product Manager (Freelance) in New York, New York

Role Details:

As the Lead Product Manager for Streaming for CBS Sports, you will spearhead the development and

enhancement of our organizations streaming products. You will be responsible for driving the product

strategy, roadmap, and execution to ensure our products meet the evolving needs of our customers

while aligning with business objectives. This role is central to the success of building out capabilities

that enable and accelerate customer acquisition and retention goals. The ideal candidate will be a

strategic thinker with deep expertise in streaming technology, possess strong leadership skills, and the

ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams. You will work with stakeholders across

CBS Sports, News and Entertainment as well as many groups across the broader Paramount ecosystem.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Product Strategy and Roadmap:

  • Develop and communicate a comprehensive product strategy and roadmap for streaming products.

  • Define and prioritize features and enhancements based on market research, customer feedback, and business goals.

  • Collaborate with stakeholders to align product initiatives with broader company objectives.

Streaming Product Management:

  • Develop and drive a prioritized multi-channel personalization roadmap to deliver exceptional customer journey experiences in order to achieve business objectives.

  • Monitor KPIs for the system against industry leading benchmarks and other company streaming goals

Cross-Functional Collaboration:

  • Partner with engineering, design, and customer success teams to deliver successful product launches and drive adoption.

  • Lead cross-functional teams through the product development lifecycle, from concept to launch and beyond.

  • Foster a culture of collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement within the product management organization.

Performance Tracking and Optimization:

  • Define and track key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure the success and impact of streaming products.

  • Analyze product usage data, customer feedback, and market trends to identify opportunities for optimization and improvement.

  • Iterate on product features and functionality based on feedback and performance metrics to drive continuous improvement.

Key Objectives for this Role:

  • Facilitate the launch of two new FAST channels within 6 months, leading to an increase in engagement and ad impressions on our owned and operated apps and distribution partners.

  • Enable increased efficiency of OTT apps by partnering with client side product management to build out the necessary updates to the content management system and APIs; launching new

  • OTT apps leveraging a unified codebase by end of FY 2024

  • Lead the launch of a new internal video CMS, aimed at improving the user experience, improving development efficiencies, and sunsetting legacy tools, by end of FY 2024

  • Partner closely with Paramount+ team to deliver a new stream experience for the 2024 football season, which unlocks previously untapped revenue streams.

  • Work with internal stakeholders to iteratively ship improvements to both local and national streams throughout 2024, until legacy software is deprecated in favor of newly built systems.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelors degree in a relevant technical field (e.g., Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or similar) or equivalent experience

  • 3+ years of experience in product management, with a focus on streaming, or related fields.

  • Deep understanding of streaming technology platforms.

  • Proven track record of successfully bringing complex products to market and driving adoption.

  • Strong leadership skills, with the ability to influence stakeholders at all levels.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to articulate product vision and strategy to both technical and non-technical audiences.

  • Experience with Agile development methodologies and product management tools (e.g., Jira, Confluence) is preferred.

  • Knowledge of the Sports, News and Entertainment space across the media industry.

  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to make data-driven decisions.

  • A passion for staying up-to-date with industry trends and emerging technologies in streaming strategy and standards.
