Columbia University Lead Teacher Preschool Classroom (Summer Program) in New York, New York
Work in classroom with 1 or 2 Associate Teachers, and 15 - 20 students
Supervise student teachers and college student assistants
Facilitate developmentally appropriate experiences and caregiving
Support pedagogical plan for play-based learning
Articulate developmentally-based philosophy and play-based curriculum
Support maintenance of partnership with parents via newsletters, meetings and conversations as needed
Prepare presentations for classroom parent meetings and assist with student reports
Co-lead parent-teacher conferences
Attend monthly staff development
Minimum Qualifications
BA degree in Early Childhood Education, with an Initial License and the following NYS Teacher Certification tests must be in progress: AlST, EAS, CST, and edTPA.
At least 2 years experience working with young children under the age of 5 years. Must be comfortable and experienced leading groups of children out of the school setting.

Preferred Qualifications
Masters degree in Early Childhood Education
Ability to speak a language other than English, such as Spanish or Mandarin
Background in the arts, whether visual, musical or dance
