Job Summary / Basic Function:The Adult Learning and Leadership Program (ALL)—inclusive of the Adult Education Guided Intensive Study (AEGIS) executive-format cohort EdD for mid-career professionals living at a distance—is seeking applications for a full-time, one-year Lecturer line for the Academic year beginning September 2021 and inclusive of Summer 2022.

The Lecturer will have primary functions in the following areas;

  • Teach core courses in AEGIS and in ALL, i.e., adult learning and development, human resource development / coaching, qualitative research

  • Guide student research

  • Help recruit / select next AEGIS cohort for June 2022 intake

  • Help redesign AEGIS online/hybrid format in light of Covid-19 experience

  • Teach in online MA launch Fall 2021.

Primary responsibilities associated with the position include teaching five courses per academic year over the Fall and Spring semester. Additionally, because a new AEGIS cohort will start its program in June 2022, the Candidate will teach a course with the cohort (for additional compensation). Courses will focus on adult learning and development theory and its facilitation (including Coaching applications) for the MA / EdM / EdD earned in the ALL/AEGIS programs.

There is potential for a four-course load based on additional advising and/or administrative responsibilities, with the approval of the Department Chair, related to the launching (and marketing) of an online MA in Fall 2021; and to the redesign and recruitment of a new cohort in AEGIS that will begin coursework in Summer 2022. The candidate will assist ALL faculty in selecting and on-boarding the new cohort. They will also join a redesign initiative of the AEGIS hybrid curriculum and format. Redesign is guided by lessons learned during the Covid-19 pandemic.

Minimum Qualifications:

Candidates should have an earned doctorate in adult learning, adult development, or related fields with adult/organizational learning, leadership, or coaching/facilitation specializations.

Applicants must be authorized for employment in the U.S. on a full-time basis.

Preferred Qualifications:

Candidate will demonstrate skill in different teaching modalities (e.g., face-to-face, hybrid, online and social media), and with cohort formats. They should have a well-established combined leadership, practice, and/or scholarship record in their sub-field, and experience or strong promise in teaching and student advisement. Prior experience in teaching Adult Learning & Leadership online courses.

The position will be paid at a level commensurate with the successful candidate’s experience and background.
