JOB SUMMARY

Based out of our New York headquarters, we are currently seeking a Manager, Business Development | Retail & Merchandise to join our world class business development team.

The ideal candidate will be a high-performing sales professional helping us meet our client acquisition and revenue growth targets by keeping our company competitive, innovative and at the forefront of our industry. This role will be responsible for maximising our sales potential with bespoke merchandise, crafting and implementing the sales strategy, and fronting new business opportunities from end to end.

KEY TASKS

Role & Responsibilities:

  • Achieve growth and sales targets in the Products and Services sector with a focus on Retail and Merchandise.

  • Driving new retail product development and agreements with new and current clients.

  • Design and implement a strategic business plan that expands company’s customer base and ensure its strong presence.

  • Build and promote strong, long-lasting customer relationships by partnering with new clients and truly understanding their needs.

  • Present sales, revenue and expenses reports and realistic forecasts to the leadership team.

  • Identify emerging markets and market shifts while being fully aware of new products and competitor status.

  • Liaise with the New Product Development team to craft innovative and bespoke proposals for new clients.

  • Capture accurate product briefs from prospective clients and use knowledge of prospective clients’ business to brief the Retail team on product/store requirements for proposals.

  • Work with the Retail & Merchandise team on product pricing and sales agreements to execute service level agreements with accurate pricing.

  • Work with the Retail & Merchandise team on industry innovations and how we can get these to market – identifying prospective clients for these and creating actionable plans on the approach.

    Qualifications & Skills:

  • Experience working with the retail or merchandise industries.

  • Understands the key metrics to custom product development, including the import and domestic product life cycle, cost metrics, souvenir trends, etc.

  • Successful previous experience as a sales representative or sales manager, consistently meeting or exceeding targets.

  • Committed to continuous education through workshops, seminars, and conferences.

  • Demonstrated ability to communicate, present and influence credibly and effectively at all levels of the organisation.

  • Proven ability to drive the sales process from initial opportunity to close.

  • Strong business sense and industry expertise.

  • Strong negotiation skills and experience.

  • Must have good knowledge of Microsoft Excel and experience of working with budgets/P&Ls.

  • Strong PowerPoint/Keynote skills.

  • Self-motivation with the ability to work independently.

  • An interest in the retail industry and consumer behavior.
