PURPOSE
The Manager, Commercial Planning & Operations - Forecasting is responsible for developing and gaining consensus on short/medium/long term forecasts based on retailer and consumer demand which will drive the supply planning, production schedule, finished goods inventory levels, and financial plans for the company. This position creates and analyzes gaps versus forecast and collaboratively works with the Sales and Customer Strategy teams to drive initiatives that will enable the business to efficiently deliver on retailer demand. This role will support strategic decision making by providing business, sales, demand performance and forecast insights to sales, customer strategy, marketing, finance, operations leadership and other appropriate partner groups. This position ensures that forecast excellence is being implemented across the enterprise so the ACD organization is delivering on retailer demand commitments and maintaining stellar service levels.
ROLE & RESPONSIBILITIES
Executes forecasting and inventory planning processes to deliver required service levels while optimizing inventory investment. Continues to develop proactive strategies to anticipate and mitigate issues and risks.
Analyzes customer demand patterns and leverages insights to provide thought leadership to shape demand with customers while maximizing internal supply planning efficiencies; minimizes large fluctuations in demand. Models sales promotional activities, new product pipeline and turn inventory requirements and seasonality impact to the forecast and demand plan to ensure appropriate inventory levels are in place. Proactively plans and accounts for upside/downside to customer demand fluctuations; provides leadership and guidance for contingency planning.
Leverages planning system to generate demand forecast and target inventory levels and provides summary analysis to internal business partners and suppliers, when needed.
Provides updated forecast views on a period basis and articulates the risk/opportunity profile for designated brand families. Collaborates with Sales, Customer Strategy, Marketing, Customer Service/Logistics, Finance and Supply Teams as necessary. Interfaces with key customers' selling leads, marketing and buyers/planners on forecast alignment, as necessary.
Monitors backorders and leads the identification and implementation of recovery actions and countermeasures with internal and external stakeholders; helps to mitigate supply issues or constraints and proactively works to quickly improve inventory status; owns communication and updates to appropriate stakeholders.
Monitors forecast accuracy and leverages insights to improve forecast process to meet key metrics.
Evaluates current demand planning methodology used to drive Supply Chain forecasts. Reviews forecast metrics and determines best method to improve forecast accuracy for all channels. Defines and improves relevant hierarchies (channel, geography, product, sales chain) to efficiently aggregate demand data, improve forecasts, and enable consensus forecast interactions.
Reviews inventory management forecast and service levels with the Supply Chain Planning team and cross-functional partners. Makes trade off recommendations and prioritizes customer requirements as appropriate.
Collaborates with internal resources on all trade communication that supports ACD or Loreal CPD

CRITICAL COMPETENCIES
Strong skills around forecasting/inventory management, systems, and modeling; possessing the functional/technical skills to do the work, while focusing on the needs of the customers
Developed strong analytical, problem solving & decision-making abilities; can successfully manage multiple priorities and work through disruptions and change with ease
Excellent written and verbal communication skills that allow for clear and concise presentations
Adaptability to a diverse working environment with the ability to work successfully with teams across the organization while being self-motivated
Highly organized with strong attention to detail; results-oriented and must be able to manage and prioritize complex projects effectively
Strong negotiation, planning, and process management skills
Strong computer literacy skills, proficiency in Microsoft Office, specifically MS Excel and PowerPoint
QUALIFICATION, EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
Bachelors Degree
Minimum of 8 years progressive experience in a variety of disciplines including business/project management, logistics/supply chain, and forecasting/inventory management, ideally within consumer package goods industry Able to travel +35% of time

Salary Range: $98,200-$137,500 (The actual compensation will depend on a variety of job-related factors which may include geographic location, work experience, education, and skill level)
