Axis Manager Insurance Premium Accounting - US in New York, New York

BRIEF DESCRIPTION:

The primary responsibility of this role is to assist the Global Head of Insurance Premium Accounting with all Duck Creek Billing processes, reconciliations and quarterly reporting for Finance, and communications with internal and external customers for AXIS’ North American Insurance Business

KEY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

.

  • Main point of contact for Duck Creek Billing items for US Premium Accounting – including assisting with production issues, reviewing items in Pre-PROD, rollbacks, new initiatives, and testing.

  • Review general ledger reconciliations for premium receivables and premium suspense for all US writing companies and work with various departments on Insurance, Reinsurance, and A&H to resolve outstanding reconciling items

  • Assist offshore Reconciliation team as needed with report delays, FAH/Oracle issues, and questions as needed

  • Assist with review of quarterly AR reports – including US Statutory and Group AR reports and comparative analysis on fluctuations for Insurance, Reinsurance, and A&H

  • Prepare monthly journal entries for Premium Accounting to send to Finance

  • Process month-end close steps for IRIS, as needed

  • Data review of various items in preparation for monthly closes in IRIS and Duck Creek

  • Assist with identifying process efficiencies within the Premium Accounting teams

  • Review unresolved differences/issues on cash allocations and premium receivables and assist in escalation process if required, as needed

  • Work in conjunction with the internal departments to research and resolve any outstanding issues and/or inquiries.

  • Assist the BPO team in researching issues

  • Conduct other duties as assigned.

  • Limited travel as needed.

REQUIRED EDUCATION/TRAINING & EXPERIENCE:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance or equivalent work experience.

  • Minimum of 5 years insurance industry experience, preferably with experience in Premium Accounting

  • Experience utilizing Duck Creek Billing and/or implementing Duck Creek Billing

  • Prior BPO management experiences a plus.

  • Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of related automated financial systems.

  • Demonstration of strong software skills including Excel, Access, and Outlook.
