As a key partner in the Human Resources department, the Manager, Talent Acquisition & Diversity will support the full-cycle recruitment process and will collaborate with hiring managers to successfully fill open roles across the organization. Reporting to the Senior Vice President, Human Resources, this role will require on-site presence in our NYC Midtown office at least two days each week.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
RECRUITMENT AND SOURCING
During the first stage of the recruitment process, review job description of open job, whether for a newly created position or to replace a departed employee.
Discuss job responsibilities and required skills/experience for open job with hiring manager. Develop new job descriptions as needed, using contemporary language and approved standard format.
Review internal salary ranges, and conduct research of marketplace ranges for each open job, using salary surveys and other online resources.
Working with the Talent Acquisition Associate, oversee the creation of recruitment ad copy and the research of relevant online employment sites, academic institutions' job boards, diversity recruitment websites, and other sources for posting ads and finding qualified candidates.
Proactively source qualified candidates via LinkedIn, online research, referrals through networking and from internal employee recommendations. Maintain a pipeline of viable candidates for future openings.
In conjunction with the Talent Acquisition Associate and hiring managers, responsible for the review of applicant resumes. Select resumes of qualified applicants and discuss next steps with hiring manager.
Ensure the Talent Acquisition Associate accurately stores the records of applications and candidate interviews in iCIMS.
Act as Affirmative Action Officer and ensure that all recruitment strategies and required recordkeeping is in compliance with PLI's Affirmative Action Plan. Conduct proactive outreach to local organizations that represent veterans, minorities and individuals with disabilities to share PLI's job openings.
Work with PLI's Marketing department and LinkedIn representative to establish new ways to build PLI employer brand. Maintain and update www.pli.edu/careers.
When applicable, oversee Summer Intern recruitment efforts led by Talent Acquisition Associate.

INTERVIEWING
Phone-screen selected qualified applicants and document conversations in iCIMS. The Manager must ensure all questions adhere to legal employment guidelines. Provide notes to hiring managers regarding phone screen conversation.
Work with Talent Acquisition Associate and Coordinator to arrange Zoom/Teams or in-person interviews with hiring managers and selected applicants as a result of the phone-screen process.
Ensure all applicants complete the online PLI Employment Application before the interview which may be conducted by the Manager, the hiring manager or both. Members of relevant departments may also be included in the interview process.
Provide internal guidebook to hiring managers and others regarding how to conduct an effective and compliant interview, including use of behavior-based questions.
Collect and share detailed interview feedback to hiring managers and division heads from all involved with interview processes.

ONBOARDING
Extend verbal offer to selected applicant including information regarding PLI's pre-employment process and brief overview of benefit programs.
Oversee pre-employment process and development of necessary paperwork for new hire which is performed by Talent Acquisition Associate e.g., employment references/background checks and offer letters.
Lead portions of new hire orientation.
Conduct 30-day check-in discussion with all new hires and report feedback to employee's manager and Sr. VP, HR
MANAGERIAL RESPONSIBILITIES
This position oversees the Talent Acquisition Associate. On occasion the Manager may also oversee a temporary Talent Acquisition Coordinator based on business needs.

EXIT PROCESS
Participate in conducting exit interviews and compile data and reports related to reasons for turnover.

OTHER TALENT ACQUISITION PROJECTS
Under the direction of the Sr. VP, HR, routinely conduct research from various sources of salary data in order to remain competitive in the talent marketplace.
With guidance from the Sr. VP, HR, ensure compliance with all legal DOL, EEOC, state and city employment requirements (particularly NYC and San Francisco), such as the minimum wage, recruitment, interviewing and hiring practices, and so on.
Through monthly reminders, encourage PLI employees to share open jobs with friends, family and professional network, and refer qualified candidates for open positions. Highlight details regarding PLI's Referral Award program.
Oversee Talent Acquisition Associate in generating data reports from iCIMS including statistics on time to fill, number of hires and applicant source. Develop new recruitment strategies based on results.
Maintain relationships and agreements with outside vendors such as LinkedIn, Validity (background check vendor), iCIMS (Applicant Tracking System) and staffing agencies.
Keep current with recruitment trends and technology and share updates with HR team.
Monitor Glassdoor reviews and coordinate appropriate responses with input from Sr. VP, HR.
Other projects, as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS
Bachelor's degree in related field required e.g., concentration in HR, Business, Psychology or Sociology.
Master's degree and/or PHR or SPHR certification a plus, as are completion of continuing education courses focused on HR.
Four to six+ years solid, full-cycle recruitment, interviewing and onboarding experience across a wide range of positions, in either or both for profit and nonprofit environments. Staffing firm experience is a plus, as is targeted recruiting for IT, Sales or Marketing positions.
Experience with various modes of recruitment sourcing is critical, especially knowledge of niche employment web sites.
Experience with LinkedIn Recruiter and an applicant tracking system is required.
Outstanding, succinct written and verbal communication skills required.
Strong work ethic, "can do" approach to assignments, adaptability, attention to detail, and thorough follow-up skills are essential.
Excellent multi-tasking and organizational skills are critical.
Ability to keep matters confidential is essential.
Ability to take initiative, work collaboratively, and maintain professional demeanor at all times.
Experience managing others a plus.
