About this opportunity ....

The Manager of Training & Development for the Merchandising division of Ross Stores Inc. will help identify, develop, implement, and evaluate key learning and development initiatives for the merchant organization using various learning platforms. The ideal candidate will be able to partner with the Talent Development team, HR business partners and business leaders to build and deliver effective learning solutions to support the continued growth of functional, professional and leadership capabilities.

  • Facilitation: Deliver quality training programs through various platforms.
  • Program and Project Management: Design, develop, implement and manage targeted learning programs and initiatives.
  • Consulting: Partner with Talent Development, HR business partners and business leaders to identify, develop, and implement solutions targeting associate development and overall talent development solutions.
  • Content Development: Design multi-platform content to support targeted associate development efforts using best practices in adult learning theory and instructional design.
  • Evaluation: Assess overall impact and effectiveness of learning programs.

Who you are ...

  • You have a Bachelor's Degree required; certifications or advance degree in related field preferred.
  • You have experience in facilitating professional and leadership development programs at all levels.
  • You have a proven track record with at least 3-5 years of experience in training or client facing roles.
  • You have exceptional multi-platform facilitation skills required.
  • You have experience managing learning projects and programs, including needs assessment, design, development, implementation, and evaluation.
  • You have experience in instructional design and adult learning theory, leadership and management practices, communication theory, or other related topics.
  • You have a proven track record in building collaborative and consultative partnerships within the business and HR. Demonstrated ability to work both collaboratively and independently.
  • You are comfortable operating in a fast-paced environment with the ability to successfully multitask and meet all deadlines and customer demands.
  • You have the ability to match personal work style and approach to a variety of subcultures and clients.
  • You have executive presence and communication skills, confident interacting at all levels.
  • You are able to network, make first contact, and build client relationships.
  • You have commitment to continuous learning and development.
  • You have the ability to influence across all levels
  • You have aspiration to grow
