As part of an industry-leading team, you will help empower results for our clients by delivering innovative and effective solutions as part of Aon's Capital Markets team. The position may be based in New York, Chicago, or London. Given the client-facing nature of the role and the geographic dispersion of the firm's core client base, the role is likely to involve frequent travel.
Your impact as a Managing Director, Capital Markets
The Managing Director, Capital Markets will partner with the current CEO and the team to grow the Aon Securities platform.
The successful candidate will possess proven origination and transactions execution experience with a broad array of financings for insurance and reinsurance company clients. He/she will have executed and completed numerous financings -- structuring and executing equity and debt financings (public and private) for domestic and international insurance/reinsurance company issuers. He/she swill have a track record of (i) success in originating, structuring, negotiating, and executing structured finance and more plain vanilla equity and debt financing and some advisory transactions and will have served as a trusted advisor to sophisticated insurance and reinsurance clients on financing strategies and other strategic matters.
The Managing Director, Capital Markets will be responsible for leading transaction origination, structuring, due diligence, and execution. Close collaboration with all members of the Aon Securities team, as well as with other key constituencies within Aon's reinsurance business, Aon Benfield, is required.
*Determine short- and long-term business strategy with other team members as it relates to the firm's core product offerings, and the appropriate resource levels for the team
* Develop and maintain strong commercial relationships with clients and prospective clients
* Market and execute a variety of investment banking and capital raising transactions
* Contribute to the research and innovation related to transferring risks and new structural solutions
* Recruit and continue to build the team
* Strengthen the firm's brand
* Drive global connectivity and collaboration between Aon Securities and other business units across Aon
You Bring Knowledge and Expertise
This individual will be a seasoned investment banking/capital markets specialist with the requisite experience and maturity to help drive an insurance-focused investment banking business. A relationship-driven executive, who can provide a coherent near-term and longer-term strategic framework to the team to achieve ambitious growth objectives, is desired.
Extensive experience within the insurance sector, with expertise in sourcing, structuring, and executing a variety of structured finance and advisory transactions, is required. Excellent communication skills and leadership skills are necessary.
15+ years of capital raising, strategic advisory, and insurance sector expertise
Extensive knowledge and understanding of the insurance and reinsurance industries
Ability to develop and maintain relationships with sophisticated insurance company clients
