Norton Professional Books, am imprint of W. W. Norton focusing on K-12 education and mental health books for professionals and general readers, is seeking a Marketing Manager with 3+ years mandatory experience in education publishing. Expanding the division's presence in the K-12 education field and managing initiatives aimed at mental health clinicians, academics, and relevant lay audiences are the main objectives of this position. This job reports to the Associate Director of Norton Professional Books and works closely with acquisitions editors, authors, and other internal and external partners. Essential Job Responsibilities Include:
Create and manage online and print promotional campaigns and advertisements for both K-12 education and mental health titles (determining format, editing copy, working with freelance designers and vendors, list plan management, etc.)
Help build and manage a team of experienced and results-driven commissioned sales reps selling into a diverse professional and educational marketplace
Support sales efforts to educational wholesalers and other existing accounts; nurture incoming leads to build new business and maximize overall sales growth
Develop and maintain relationships with K-12 school administrators, teacher leaders, and In-Service/Professional Development decision makers for bulk purchases * Manage our Amazon Marketing Services program (strategy and scheduling)
Partner with relevant organizations to increase visibility for our books and authors
Plan and execute social media and e-mail marketing strategy
Marketing budget planning and management
Sales performance data analysis
Conduct ongoing market research, competitive analysis, and monitor Google Analytics data for best practices
Work with our Trade, High School, and College divisions on cross-market initiatives
Represent the Norton Professional Books division at national conferences (some travel may be required); manage relationships with booksellers and combined exhibitors handling conference-related sales
Hire and manage seasonal interns

Three to five years book marketing experience in education publishing is required.
Candidate should have an interest in and commitment to professional book publishing.
Candidate must be an expert multitasker, very detailed-oriented, able to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
Excellent organizational, verbal and written communications skills.
Must be able to anticipate needs and deliver timely, relevant
solutions and actions.
Must be able to develop rapport and relationships with all levels of employees. Must be seen as knowledgeable and capable of handling sensitive, critical information.

Must have a demonstrated interest in the challenges and opportunities of electronic media as it applies to education and/or learning.
