Job Overview:

The B&H Online Video department creates and posts in-house, customer-oriented educational videos for the company’s website and YouTube channel, as well as other related media outlets. The Media Production Manager oversees the design, implementation, and direction of online videos to ensure adherence to customer and company expectations. The Manager facilitates this process at the conceptual level, by collaborating with various internal and external sources to determine the optimal product(s) to present based on seasonal needs and the latest technologies. Additionally, the Media Production Manager plays a hands-on role in prioritizing projects, allocating necessary resources, supervising the pre-production, production, and post-production stages, as well as ensuring the posted video is operational and active on the appropriate online sites.

On request, the Media Production Manager should also provide a long-term creative strategy guiding the video department’s creative vision, with a 30/60/90-day implementation plan ready for discussion. Additionally, we would also request that any desirable candidates present preliminary ideas for a five-day program bloc of regularly featured programming for the YouTube channel as part of their interview process.

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Collaborates with internal sources and analyzes industry trends to determine video topics

  • Drives video marketing direction based on product/industry/seasonal needs

  • Works with other departments (like Web Space Marketing) to ensure client and vendor concerns are addressed

  • Prioritizes video assignments and allocates/purchases resources as needed

  • Establishes and enforces standards for video content including the script, visual and audio elements, etc.

  • Directs various aspects of live video and provides guidance to Shooters and Presenters for improvement

  • Supervises post-production editing process and assists with adding or removing content as needed

  • Responsible for maintenance of YouTube channel and all assorted programming blocks and sub-channels

  • Provides video metadata and keyword tags to assist with internal online marketing initiatives

  • Continuously improves video presentation techniques and topics based on various customer feedback

Additional Responsibilities:

  • As assigned by Web Content Director

Specific Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Management, leadership, and film directing skills

  • Expert knowledge of HD cameras, lighting and audio equipment, and related accessories

  • Proficient with production workflows, principals of videography, cinematography, editing and distribution

  • Proficient with Final Cut Pro and Adobe Suites

  • Ability to use both Mac and Windows platform computers, software, and peripherals

  • Knowledge of online marketing and other online trends

  • Detail-oriented and creativity skills

  • Excellent interpersonal skills

  • Ability to work under pressure and deliver time sensitive projects

Preferred Education, Experience and Licenses:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Film, Video, or TV Broadcast

  • Minimum 3 years in a creative director’s or video production management capacity

  • Minimum 5-7 or more years of experience in film production and video shooting/editing
