Summary:

Facebook seeks an experienced Merchandiser & Programming Specialist who is passionate about commerce, technology, and innovation to join the Commerce Merchandising team, focused on helping drive online merchandising strategies to improve the overall consumer shopping experience. Our team works across Instagram Shop and Facebook Shop to deliver the right assortment strategy for each product, source against those assortment plans, and bring our items & sellers to life via merchandising, shoppable content, and curation. The Merchandising Content & Programming Specialist will work on a broad variety of merchandising projects across the products we support. This can include live shopping merchandising and programming strategy, seasonal content calendar development, merchandising roadmap prioritization, weekly merchandising insights and optimization plans, and tactical A/B testing of new merchandising features - all designed to ensure the site experience is inspirational in order to fuel discovery, relevant to each individual shopper, and on brand in order to drive shopping consideration and loyalty. This person must be able to, in equal parts, make a great internal presentation or drive a competitive merchandising user experience (UX) analysis and persuade the product teams to support site merchandising enhancements. The ideal candidate for this role will be a seasoned customer-focused, video savvy merchandiser who can blend strategic thinking with practical decision-making and rapid execution in order to optimize site features. They will partner and collaborate across multiple internal and external teams to guide the development and maintenance of site merchandising processes and tools so users are able to effortlessly navigate, search, and checkout.

Required Skills:

  1. Develop a programming plan for the Facebook Live Shopping experience, including audience and category composition

  2. Develop and operationalize a campaign seasonal video/live shopping content calendar that drives the FB/IG merchandising strategic priorities

  3. Leverage industry knowledge and expertise to compose competitive analysis to help optimally position the FB Live Shopping experience in the market

  4. Oversee and drive a merchandising/editorial strategy, incorporating FB/IG Shopping priorities and trends to create market-leading content that drives repeat visits and increased engagement

  5. Support business goals through effective site presentation, curation, and execution of marketing strategies

  6. Collaborate with product team on continued merchandising enhancements, and QA testing new feature releases

  7. Partner closely with Category Management team to identify shopping trends and generate actionable recommendations to grow and improve category performance

Minimum Qualifications:

  1. Bachelor's degree with 5+ years of experience in media/entertainment/technology, specifically in a content strategy and programming

  2. 5+ years of proven success in site merchandising, buying and/or category management with e-commerce and/or innovative retail experience in a data driven environment including the experience building shopping experiences and program fresh, inspiring shopping content in a fast paced, dynamic environment

  3. Experience in video or streaming

  4. Knowledge for creativity and content and should have interest and experience in creative ideation

  5. Business acumen, knowledge of financial measurements and how to impact them. Experience identifying areas of the business that need attention and have the experience in analyzing the details when appropriate

  6. Experience working closely with product management (search, personalization, buyer experience, tools) to inform business requirements and using cases needed to develop site merchandising tools and business knowledge necessary to optimize the buyer experience

  7. Experience owning and coordinating holiday campaigns or other site merchandising events at scale

  8. Analytical skills and data oriented, proficiency in eCommerce platforms, A/B testing, and site analytics tools (e.g. Google Analytics, Adobe Site Catalyst)

  9. Experience understanding competitive landscape primarily focused on navigation, search, customer experience, and driving roadmap priorities to incorporate into the business

  10. Team player and experience working effectively and collaboratively across all departments to meet goals and deadlines, and present to individuals at all levels

  11. Proven product sensibility and experience to merchandise sites in a visually appealing way

  12. Knowledge of the customer journey and experience

  13. Flexible and adaptive to changing priorities, experience with organizing, problem solving, multi-tasking and prioritizing workload to meet deadlines

  14. Attention to detail skills and accuracy, a thirst for learning and success, desire to learn new technologies
