The IT Workflow Consultant provides advanced technical advice to support a variety of post-sales activities, including installation, testing, integration, and maintenance of RDC products. This includes the responsibility of customer consulting engagement for system solutions of the RDC IT products to RDC instrumentation and customers' medical systems (LIS, EMR, etc) Assists Field Project Managers and Sales/Marketing Staff in assessing the application of RDC products to meet customer needs and preparing detailed product specifications for the implementation and integration of customer applications and/or solutions. Responsible for completing all required pre sale and post sale technical implementation activities within the prescribed time frame, following documented procedures and processes, to ensure the product application/solution functions to specifications. Ensures that the product application/solution functions according to specifications. Ensures customer satisfaction during the installation and integration processes and post-go-live period through active consulting, and implementation of IT solutions.
Manages expectations, identifies risks, and formulates plans to minimize impacts to the project. Directs and coordinates activities to ensure project progress on schedule while meeting all other specified project performance parameters. Actively participates in and conducts pre-implementation, implementation and post-project review meetings for RDC customers and internal stakeholders.
Provides complex technical support to customers on operational aspects of the IT Solution for the pre-implementation responsibilities; e.g. implementation. Performs remote and/or on-site consulting for system software and solution. Applies a broad knowledge of practices and principals in analyzing situations or data. Requires frequent travel, 40% or greater, to customer sites for consultation and/or installation, issue resolution and participation in team meetings as required.
A seasoned professional with wide-ranging experience. Works on complex issues/projects where analysis of data requires evaluation of identifiable factors. . Exercises judgment in evaluating methods and may determine criteria for obtaining solutions. May coordinate the activities of other employees. Networks with senior internal and external personnel in the area of expertise as well as some key contacts outside the area of expertise. Responsible for maintaining and continuously improving the quality system and achieving quality objectives through daily actions.
Key Roles & Responsibilities:
Responsible for obtaining customer requirements prior to project start.
Determines customer needs and sets appropriate installation expectations, ensuring resources are aligned and available to complete the required activities within the prescribed time-frame. Performs validation process of IT solutions to evaluate effectiveness. Ensures all customers are fully satisfied with their IT product installation.
Assessment of customer lab workflows and current testing environment. Translates into Roche IT Product configuration settings.
Designs, gains agreement, and communicates professional project plans for customer implementations which confirm with RTD policies and procedures.
Directs and coordinates activities to ensure project progresses on schedule and meets specified project performance parameters.
Provides support for mock go-live and go-live support
Responsible for administrative requirements including expensing, project reports, documentation, status reports, and adherence to regulatory requirements.
Assist in highly complex customer pre sales calls to ensure we are providing the right solution for the customer.
Consults with customers and key stakeholders to design and implement highly complex workflows to maximize the RDC solution for the customer.
Participates in the review of requirements for new product development.
Provide expert technical advice to internal resources and customers, in the implementation of Roche solutions and investigation and resolution of complex issues.
Serve as the subject matter expert for Roche IT solutions across the RDC organization, including field and support staff. Liaise with the global life-cycle teams to ensure product readiness for the RDC organization, including review of installation documentation, internal and external product testing, and internal procedure and documentation updates.
Leads new hire training and mentors new hire and less experienced team members.
Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Medical Technology, Life Sciences and 4 years of laboratory IT, general IT, product line experience or 6 years experience.
Technical skills within product groups; including Microsoft Windows, Microsoft SQL, Microsoft IIS, Oracle, Apache, JBoss, Drupal, PHP, MySQL, Networking, Security and Intersystems Cache
Fluency with healthcare domain integration standards (HL7, ASTM, IHE, DICOM, HIPAA, ADT, etc.)
Experience with file parsing (XML, XSLT, etc.)
Strong understanding of RDC total solution including interaction between RDC IT Solutions and Instruments
In-depth knowledge of the clinical customer base and critical components of an LIS and laboratory IT processes and workflows
Ability to troubleshoot complex problems, and drive resolution
Highly Effective communication skills; ability to effectively communicate with and translate requirements for both technical and non-technical groups Indicate below any additional preferred requirements if applicable (optional):
