CBS This Morning is seeking an experienced Producer with extensive control room and LIVE guest experience. This Producer will be responsible for crafting guest segments, briefing anchors, and helping coordinate the live show in the control room.
This candidate must be calm and efficient during breaking news, and have a keen interest in politics. Candidate must also have considerable experience working closely with talent, including correspondents and anchors. Will be responsible for overseeing a small producing team. Candidates must be willing to work overnights, as this position will likely require an early-morning Monday to Friday overnight schedule
Minimum 7+ years producing experience in a professional newsroom is preferred.
Must have solid news judgment and experience chasing breaking news.
Mastery of politics, and the political stories of the day.
Strong research skills including working with public and private records databases, such as Lexis Nexis, is preferred.
Must be an excellent writer with well-developed oral communication skills, especially when working on sensitive stories.
Must be able to juggle and prioritize multiple stories with different deadlines: short, medium, and long-term.
Must have the ability to manage ongoing relationships with external contributors, news outlets and other stakeholders.
Must be a team player with a positive attitude.
Thrives in high-pressure and time-critical situations.
Passion for news, journalism, and storytelling is required.
