Marc Jacobs International, powered by the creative genius of Marc Jacobs, seeks a Merchandiser, Outlet Leather Goods to join the Merchandising team based in its New York City (SoHo) headquarters. Marc Jacobs International is part of the Louis Vuitton Moet Hennessy (LVMH) fashion division and operates in the wholesale and direct to consumer retail markets.
Develop seasonal merchandise assortment plans to ensure development is focused and poised to drive volume and meet margin expectations.
Build effective partnerships with design, production, and product development to properly influence the development process and deliver the best product (price, function & style) for our customers.
Partner with Commercial teams in all regions to anticipate product demand and ensure new products & price points are achieved as needed.
Act as central coordinator to ensure all cross functional partners – VM, creative services, retail training, commercial teams etc – are properly briefed on the collections and product priorities.
Set Retail pricing and ensure we properly are positioned in the market, while delivering the best price/value to the consumer.
Keep abreast of competitive environment/trends at all price points in respective categories and all relative categories. Create competitive/trend recaps and disseminate as needed.
Analyze selling reports and provide recaps to cross functional team members.
Prepare seasonal product preview presentations to share product strategy with entire global organization.
Market - own all stages from market prep to final order validation including:
Create seasonal excel product database.
Organize line edit, margin review, product photography, showroom VM, global product training.
Own all necessary PLM & Pricing updates, and the JOOR Linesheets.
Prepare and present detailed product training to global teams.
Attend sales appointments as needed.
Consolidate final Retail & Wholesale buys for Order Validation meetings with Executive Committee.
Seasoned merchandiser with 3 to 5 years of Leather goods experience.
Excellent product sensibility & thorough knowledge of Luxury, Contemporary and Outlet market trends.
Ability to work with a high level of autonomy.
Detailed knowledge of the product development and production process.
Excellent presentation skills.
Comfortable with ambiguity and able to successfully navigate in such an environment.
Proven track record of building successful relationships at all levels of an organization.
Strong analytical and problem solving skills.
Team oriented with ability to multi-task.
Ability to take initiative, ownership, and accountability for business.
Fluent in Excel, PPT, PLM & ERP Systems.
